Venus, yes, sand is a valuable member... The problem with shout out threads is not necessarily the shout out but most often to do so, people point at another poster as running them off & a rehash begins.
It is wisest to not give press to the offender as it degenerates the positive intention of the shout out. Not that you have done this but it occurs all to often and the lock is the pound of prevention... ------------------

What Juni said. Please, no more individual shoutout strings. People get angry and leave and almost always come back, usually soon, but sometimes much later. It has been happening that way for almost 12 years. By starting a string for that person, it creates divisiveness.------------------

It creates divisiveness but it also allows members to "check in" with each other and compare notes. F.e. I didn't have the whole picture behind a certain member's banning but after starting a thread (which is now closed) and getting some feedback I am now satisfied that the best decision was made. People just can't keep track of all that's going on on the forum + stuff behind the scenes. We all need to be heard and sometimes, some of us are late to the party.  Randall, I haven't said this before, but I am amazed by your patience to let it all play out as it may. I think that is a great policy and it seems to work. Just think about it - 12 years!!!
