I am deeply saddened by his passing. Such a bright light will carry on in his paintings. Like or not his Works, he was a wonderful example of a human being "I'm a warrior for light," he told the San Jose Mercury News in 2002, in reference to his technical skills but also the medieval practice of using light to symbolize the divine. "With whatever talent and resources I have, I'm trying to bring light to penetrate the darkness many people feel." http://news.yahoo.com/calif-artist-thomas-kinkade-dies-age-54-040935368.html

I always think of Rainbow when I see a Kinkade painting. She adored them I love jigsaw puzzles and have many going in the winter. The prettiest and most often the most difficult are the Kincade ones. I love his use of purples and did this puzzle last week. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

How sad. I remember when they had his galleries in the mall. His work always seemed enchanted, how you would picture the cottages of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty to look.Thank you for posting this, juni. He will be remembered fondly. IP: Logged |

I heard about this earlier.I don't understand why high-art people dismissed his work. I've always loved it - it's beautiful, comforting and if I could paint half as well as he could, I'd be a happy bunny. At least you can tell what he's painting, too; the high-art people tend to go for things where someone has just splattered paint on a canvas, like they threw a tantrum, and called it "expressing themselves". Of course there are good, interesting artists out there - but this is for another thread. RIP Thomas Kinkade. IP: Logged |

I love his use of color. Purple trees and water. My eye always follows his paths leading into the houses and it looks so inviting.I always get the notion there`s a fire going and cookies on the table. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

i think i have figured out his chart:aqua sun, aqua moon, libra ascendant. that would put neptune and jupiter and north node in the first house, which makes sense to me. Also it would put the sun ,moon, and venus in the fourth house, does anybody agree?IP: Logged |
