Some of you might have seen my posting a while back about Lee (Orville) Wollard, a wonderful, loving family man who is serving a 20 year sentence for "aggravated assault" in prison in Florida. It's twenty years because Florida has these crazy, unforgiving laws on the book about mandatory minimum sentences. Lee, unfortunately, got the short end of the stick of those laws. There's a petition on his behalf on Change.org, for those interested in more details.I am very involved with the case and I can tell you I wouldn't have been if Lee weren't a good man. His is a case of just tragic circumstances and a jury that wasn't given all the information it should have been given. Anyway, those of us involved have been working on an appeal on behalf of Lee, and the final decision should come down in July. In the meantime, he has contracted a staph infection in prison, as have many other men in his ward. Please join me in praying for Lee, that the infection will resolve quickly, and that the appellate judge(s) will do the right thing, in the interests of justice and good fathers everywhere. Whatever your religion, whatever your belief system, each person's prayer is important for Lee at this very crucial time for him. Thank you. IP: Logged |

Please also throw in a prayer that the prison warden will have kindness in his heart and do what it takes to eradicate this staph infection.IP: Logged |
