spuds are potatoes and a spud is also a tool to chop ice for a fishing hole. So maybe a spudder is a man who ate potatos before going ice fishing Your English is lovely & amazes me . I read elsewhere, you speak more than a few other languages. I`m impressed!! My English is lazy and it`s my only one. Shame on me. ------------------
