IF you have a specific malware. Check your computer and be up on this viral problem. http://www.clarkhoward.com/videos/clark-howard/technology/got-malware-you-might-run-this-free-test/vG42g/ scan link http://www.dcwg.org I`m green and good to go... ------------------ As Angels above guide Human beings, Human Beings have the opportunity to be Angels on Earth, who guide the Animal kingdom. - Da Vinci IP: Logged |

thanks for the heads-up juni... green here too ------------------ " Some define good as that which preserves, and evil as that which destroys; but destruction can be cleansing and purifying, for there is such a thing in both men and races as spiritual constipation, which comes from too much preservation of the status quo." I`m happy you both tested green. There are so many virus/malware hoaxes floating around that I`m afraid no one is taking this a little more seriously. I may have blown it off too but I read the FBI is encouraging all to test and be safe. Unfortunately, this is to be taken seriously ------------------ As Angels above guide Human beings, Human Beings have the opportunity to be Angels on Earth, who guide the Animal kingdom. - Da Vinci IP: Logged |

Thank you for bringing this up. I saw something on the news about it a month or so and never checked. After checking it looks like I"m in the green. IP: Logged |

Wow, that was soooooo super fast and simple! Green for me also.Everyone should go and check their computers out, because this is a really nasty malware program. No actual scan is necessary; you just go to the site of your country to instantly see if your system is reading DNS properly. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Thanks Juni, for posting this. And thanks Randall for bumping, or I would have missed this. So I ran the scan. It came up green. BUT the message also gives a disclaimer-- "Your computer appears to be looking up IP addresses correctly! Had your computer been infected with DNS changer malware you would have seen a red background. Please note, however, that if your ISP is redirecting DNS traffic for its customers you would have reached this site even though you are infected." So I'm confused. If I could have reached the "green page" even if I'm infected, then how does this test help?? IP: Logged |

You shouldn't worry about that unless, as it says, your ISP is redirecting DNS traffic. Though I have absolutely no idea what that means IP: Logged |

^ Gee thanks for the expertise, CS!! I guess, we're just going to have to wait to see if a tech savvy person hops on to this thread to enlighten us!! But your laughter sure helped me<--- being genuine here IP: Logged |

The chance your ISP is redirecting DNS traffic is infinitesimally small. This is something temporarily done by techs when there is a problem they are trying to fix. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." You can always contact your ISP and ask them, but it's not a big concern.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Not exactly a fan of those free virus scanners.Half the time your actually downloading a mallware pretending to check your system. I would suggest everyone who clicked that link to do a rescan now with Norton or McAfee. ------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus IP: Logged |

It's not really a scan. It's just a link check for DNS.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

It's legit. But it only affects about 250,000 computers worldwide and around 70,000 in the US.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hmm apparently it can check cell phones too. I'm on green as well. Someone once told me phones can pick up viruses too so I thought what the heck and checked since this is how I access the internet (thru my phone). A friend of mine asked me to go look at her computer and her system showed a few viruses and something called a spambot and god knows what else and I tried to fix it but it won't let me online. I wonder if this was y... IP: Logged |
