"Kristen Stewart's recent cheating scandal has caused her to go into exile, and she's not even coming out to work. K Stew is turning down film roles and not going to red carpet events. She is apparently too embarrassed to be seen in public, and she has reportedly pulled out of her next movie, Cali, that she was set to star in and had some producer credit as well." AOL news

Wow.. what a shocker!

I was really surprised when I read about her publicly admitting it, and posting the apology on Twitter. Apparently it was not just a rumor (though I hadn't heard about the rumors).

And for what - for a man 20 years her senior with a wife and a family of his own!!

I guess she must really feel ashamed, to be turning down opportunities.

I saw that movie. I so rarely say something like this about an actor but she was awful (and seemed very similar to tone to her scenes in other movies, which is a very bad sign). I wonder if she earned the part with seduction (or even outright sexual favors) than with talent...

I don't think so. I think they were hoping to draw all of her fans from Twilight.

Yup! Its so sad. More so since she is a woman. Because from what i have observed, most of the places blame women and coolly ignore it if a man does this. Or is it different in some of the regions?

I walked home from school with 2 boys when I was 13 and my granny got a call saying I was having sex with both boys. I'm blessed to have a granny who's intelligent so she knew better than that (and reminded the drug store lady who called to tell her lies about the commandment against bearing false witness) but she did have a talk with me over it when I got home. It was a pretty serious and even little frightening talk, but I'll spare you the details, just the overriding moral she wanted me to keep in mind:

In the eyes of the town I was not only responsible for my behavior but also for the behavior of all males, including seriously older males, toward me.

I guess this thread title goes to show that it's not just that small town that views things that way.

Pixie in this case she is a public figure/celebrity and therefore prone to scrutiny. But yes women are always the first to have fingers pointed at them in almost all societies!

Yeah, they are. Because men are expected to cheat, for some reason. So when a woman does it, she is seen like a man-eater and b!tch.

Proof that women get bashed more than men. He's been cheating for years and any woman who came forward about it quickly found herself out of work.

I thought this was about some one else other than a movie star.

If she wasn`t famous, no one would care ey.... except the wife & kids.

i guess i kinda see what ya'll are saying, its weird because the media puts women on a pedastal and at the same time is hard on them. but from my perspective this actually speaks well of women because we expect more of them than men. i dont know how other guys feel about this but it bothers me that we are actually expected to be cheaters.

To be honest i feel bad for kristen, here she is getting the brunt of the blame when it`s not entirely her fault was it wrong to be involved with a married man yes.It takes two to tango this married man seems to be getting off scott clean and to be honest i am getting sick of people blaming her and blaming her.Blame him,the douche bag with a wife and kids.

I feel bad for her that she seems to be isolating herself from the world now...i don`t blame her but i think it`s just making things worse for her. Were aloud to make mistakes nobody is perfect so get out of that damn house and keep yourself busy life is too short to worry about what people are going to think about you for this.If it wasn`t this it would be something else...am i right.

I am 3 days younger than Kristen Stewart.

If I make a mistake I will apologize and admit I am wrong.

Even if I don't and know I am partially wrong...

I shut down and give up for a while.

The only things we have different with our astro is that she a Cancer rising, and I'm a Gemini rising. She's a Libra Moon and I'm a Scorpio Moon.

But yeah I'm sure she'll come around and move on from her guilt eventually.

But unfortunately in her case the whole world knows, even people that don't care, have to hear about it.

Oh yeah I had no idea the dude she had an affair with was married with kids. yikes!
Is this guy famous or well known?

It was with the director of her movie.

And most commenters aren't buying it.

Reminds me of the most popular definition of "**** " at Urban Dictionary:

quote:
a woman with the morals of a man

If God intended her to cheat then He'd have made her a man!
