All i do now is yell at him because he's always sniffing something. I can't leave him alone because he's literally brought down a mirror off the wall and shattered it into millions of pieces and almost chewed a hole through the door. The door frames are all splinters now; my throat hurts because he just does not stop!

I've read that dogs challenge for the alpha position and i'm keeping up but i'm just fed up! I'm not myself anymore. I'm hard and a mars in aries all the time.

I'm more productive these days but i can't tell if it's because i've had to care for him or if it's just me.

I used to be so happy and magical all the time and now i'm only like that for a bit before i'm having to deal with him again. I can't remember the last time i meditated.

Is my spiritual life being neglected because of this? I have no "ME" time... Even while i'm out i have to make sure i'm back in time to feed him or take him out...

I had originally kept him because i found him and the no-kill shelter wouldn't take him when i took him there... He was a stray.

I didn't wanna put him a shelter that'd put him to sleep so i've had him for about a month or so but my life is very random and i don't work in a field that has me on a 9-5. i've been having 14 hr days lately!

I don't even cuddle or pet him as much. I resent it now, kind of. I used to but he'd get demanding about it after.. I don't know if i enjoy him. My throat hurts and it feels as if i'm always pissssed because of him.

I sometimes enjoy the company when i feel lonely because when i'm home, i'm always by myself... Te tradeoff is what? Being pisssed all the time?

Ugh..

poor dog!

Dogs sniff; that's what they do.

They have an excellent sense of smell, and can smell things that we can't; they investigate their environment by sniffing--it's normal for a dog!

Have you tried showing him love and affection and kindness, at all? Ever try being patient with him?

You talk about being neglected yourself, but you're also neglecting this poor animal by not even showing him any kind of love.

I felt so sad for him reading this. It honestly broke my heart.

When you have a pet, you have to take care of them. They aren't little fluffy stuffed animals that just sit there and look cute. They have needs. It sounds like you resent that he has needs and you resent the responsibility that comes with a dog, which frankly is not fair to that poor guy at all.

I think that you should find him a loving home as soon as possible, where he will be welcome and treated well by people better-equipped to handle his needs and to devote the time, love, and attention to him that he deserves.

Have you ever had a dog before? Did you really know what you were getting into?

If you don't have the right personality and patience for it, pet ownership isn't for you, maybe. Pets need more than just basic needs met. They need to--and deserve to--be loved and nurtured, to be given care and kindness instead of resentment, and to be treated like companions. They need to be taught and trained, too. Have you ever even considered any kind of obedience training or anything like that?

I don't mean to be mean, and don't want to be, but I just feel so bad for this poor dog.

^^I agree with you, the dog needs to be placed in a home where someone can nurture him and be patient with his behavior.

exactly

You really have to know your limits. If you can't handle something, better not to do it.

The dog deserves a nice family or owner(s) who will give him what he needs.

Hey, regardesrighteous, are you perhaps caught in your own b.s. or did u miss the part where i had taken the dog in to save him from a dog catcher and then ended up with him because the no-kill shelter wouldn't take him? Make a comment next time AFTER you read.
