Anyone watch the show or seen the documentary? Do you think it's real? He still insists it is. I thought it was weird that he never even mentioned trying to Skype with any of them in the documentary, and the conversation that gave the film its name seemed a tad out of character and scripted. But I know realistically stuff like that probably does happen all the time since people can create entirely different personas online... IP: Logged |

I never saw it but see that it airs on MTV...a channel known to script so-called "reality shows" before. That is, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find most to all of it not real. IP: Logged |

Yeah that was definitely my first impression about the show. Especially for those lying about their identity I highly doubt they would agree to let that be revealed on MTV lol The original documentary was really well made (especially if it's fake) but there were things that just didn't seem right or add up Also in my personal opinion I sort of think Nev might be gay. (I honestly have no judgments about that whatsoever, just think it adds to the twists lol) IP: Logged |

I also sense some acting going on (with the hosts). They don't seem to genuinely care about the people - they just want the next newest exciting crazy story. The more effed up the better with them. I think they are doing it to make the show more interesting and can almost sense them rubbing their hands together when they find someone who they know has been talking to someone who hasnt been revealing the whole truth. Like they've 'caught a good one and will make for good tv.. I do think the stories are actual and going on in 'real life', but they want to sensationalize them and find the most effed up ones as possible. The hosts are kind of dorky and annoyiing......they are too wrapped in what they are doing and come across as fake. I think it's a good show for young people espeacially though. They often don't realize what they are getting themselves into in an online relationship. I have not seen the movie. Have noticed that usually when reality comes crashing down, after the people actually meet in real life.....they move on. IP: Logged |
