i hope not, i really like the experience of seeing a movie in the theater, but it seems to be heading that way imo. i remember when i was a kid a movie didnt come out on video until a year or so after it hit theaters, now its only a matter of months. are people eventually gonna stop going to the movies altogether because they can just buy the movie in a few months? i think the outrageous prices of tickets and snacks will eventually force people to wait until the movie comes to dvd. kind of like redbox has pretty much destroyed movie rental places... we use to have blockbusters and hollywood videos in town but now they are all gone.IP: Logged |

One closed here last night. I hope not. I can't afford to go often, but I do like getting out of the house for a while, and watching a movie that everyone is into (as with Super 8, two years ago). IP: Logged |

well - they might... my favorite (biggest screen size) one of the best from our town (we have lots of cinemas, tho - no IMAX) has very few customers this days... i even made a habit in watching a movie at 14:00 PM - and with a capacity of 720 seats, at that time of the days it's almost empty - just me and 3 or 5 other people... even at night time - i rarely see people covering more than 50% of its capacity and I've been to many major titles... They're still surviving... cause of couples and cinema fans like me, but not sure for how long... Around 10 years ago - in the middle of the day was half full and almost full or even - over the limit (few times i had to seat on stairs) at night time. IP: Logged |
