If you are, that is against the rules. Come clean now or risk your latest name being banned.

Everyone should say yes just to see which usernames get banned.

AG, hello!

I can't even keep track of my own threads, nevermind a few different username's threads.

Always found it a bit baffling as to how people, or why people would do that.

It seems dishonest and sneaky to me.

I have a feeling there are quite a few people posting under multiple usernames.

Just be yourself and say what you have to say, "as you". Don't hide behind other names or try to confuse things for people. If you have something to say, have the balls enough to say it as you (your main name) and deal with the backlash or whatever. I don't get why people make things complicated and try to play tricks on others.

I liked it better when this community was more homey, smaller and close. Like a little village of likeminds, sharing and helping.....now it's different and like living in NYC or some other major city sometimes. Lots of nonsense and hustle and bustle. Got to watch your back more and remember that people admit they lurk here for years (!!!) before even posting. Kind of creepy....

Its rather annoying and deceitful. Plus most of them don't even try to change their writing styles, if your going undercover at least do it right.

I have teaselbaby, so that I can edit old posts if they pop up and I don't want them to exist. "Anela" that stopped working within weeks of registering, four years ago, and dreamcatching, when I was trying on a name change, and it didn't stick.

yeah, it's wishy-washy. plus, I just don't "get it", really... what is the motivation... internet identity crisis??? x.x iic? ~is there such a disorder??? trolls do it to get around administration, I would think... but why anyone else goes through names, I've failed to grasp... seems like a waste of time, and it leads to confusion and more time wasting for others... lol what are the benefits...? are there benefits???

(this is more rhetorical (me pondering aloud/a'type(???lol) than actually looking for the answers, sorry)

speaking of time wasting~ haha sorry~!! >.<;

I started out with teaselbaby, taking my cat's nickname, but it shortens, but initials, to TB. Not that nice (brings to mind tuberculosis.) I tried to start fresh with Anela, when everyone got deleted four years ago, but something happened to stop it from working, so I went back to teasel.

In case anyone else is wondering:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet_%28Internet%29

I wish I had the patience to describe one sock puppet master who had several personas and it eventually became hilarious to me, especially as it came to light that it was all from the same computer and thus IP address which got especially hilarious when he tried to explain how the really bizarre people including a Japanese cop, teenage girl stripper in America, moralizing Catholic who thought any sexuality in a movie was a reason to condemn it, and more were all living together and posting the same thing as each other, often forgetting which persona was which so the moralizing Catholic would ask which were the best booty shorts or the cop talking about how guys sexually harassed him all the time while he was working. Others couldn't stand him and he was banned, and once he realized he couldn't get around the IP (at least not without going to the library which would severely limit his time, I suspect he was physically & mentally disabled on some kind of disability). I don't even think he was a troll, I just think he was a lonely guy in bad need of some professional help.

Not only does their writing style give them away, they have an energy signature. One can get the sense or feel of the posters energy and it always leads back to the culprit

BTW do not be confused with other users of the .I have always been juniperb and always will be.

PixieJane I'd never heard of this term =x !

I did see meatpuppet thrown around but not in internet context at that time~! haha

I'd have to agree with you, there are many such people who (at least most of society) would see as loners or lonely who will use multiple handles+identities to interact with others.

lol the guy you mention reminds me of that saying, (I think it goes something like...)
"liars must have good memories"
~something like that! haha

it's still not right in my eyes, to treat the forum (any forum), like ones own personal RPG... there are places for that. ne??

(note - I do get the valid reasons someone may have to or need to create a new handle, such as when the registry was wiped out and everyone here had to don new names... or having a burdensome one, or maybe not realizing there was an "inappropriate" inference related/borne to the name... somehow... that makes sense, clearly. lol there would/should be exceptions... but for personal amusement... I'm not so sure.)

that all said, I don't think there's too much harm coming from those who have (recently), but at the same time... respecting the rules... some things aren't meant to be compromised... I get that too. lol ~tres Capricorn~ /sigh

I rattled on again!!! sorry.

ty for passing that link along PixieJane! *learned something new* XD

Is this an issue? Ok so my GK is getting updated. Idk. But is answering old posts with old user name wrong? I did that initially when i had changed mine. It i.e. the system could not delete the old one and wouldn't accept the old email id for the new one. So new email id everytime one has to have a new id for some reason or the other? Well good you came up with this because i didn't know that it was unethical. Ofcourse i have long stopped using the old one as the threads are hardly commented upon now. But may be there are several posters who are equally ignorant of this fact.

Edit: BTw for those who might be wondering why change the id in the first place then well its just that some persons here thought that my old user id was just not comfortable to address so ......Presto! I got a new one.

I've wished I could have an alter-ego, especially now that I've associated my username with my Poetry Project (my posts here are splashed ALL over Google, whenever you search my full legal name). I can no longer post anything remotely personal or private, and I truly miss being plain ole' V-AA It's not that anyone really cares to dig into what I wrote in 2001, when I was **16**, but it freaks me that it's now linked as I have NEVER changed usernames, even with the switch/deletion and all. In some ways, it's a punishment to have to choose between sharing honestly about issues, and sharing my soul-inspired writing with those I feel "get" it. ::sigh::

It's okay when you ask to change your name. When you do it on your own, not okay. If you have more than one Username and have not requested it, you are breaking the rules you agreed to when you signed up, and you can expect your latest name (if not others) to be banned very soon. Last chance to post here and abandon all but one.
