Seriously, I went in there expecting it to be just as crappy as that Michael Bay turd fest but I actually ended up enjoying it. I should have more faith in Guillermo del Toro.

I think people expected it to be crappy because of the choppy-looking trailer, which left a lot to the imagination.

But boy was I impressed when I went and saw it.

I agree with you, Pacific Rim > Transformers

Yeah I was genuinely surprised! I guess it might have been the fact that I had such low expectations for the movie yet it managed to present a good enough storyline (quite rare in action movies these days.)

I just wish that some of the other pilots had a bit more screen time. The Russian Duo looked so friggin badass!

As an action movie, its not all that bad. Think of it as a Monster Movie version of Avatar ; Simplistic yet enjoyable plot with BREATHTAKING visuals.
