What a boring wife . Why get married to someone for this when you can just hire a maid Lol!

I hope that is not how the modern generation defines a wife to be . I love my wife because she is not all of... this.

^ What a profoundly boring "debate".

Why fling insults (or imply insults) towards those who have chosen a different path?

It's their path, not your path.
You don't have to live it.

And, yes, the insinuation of insult (ie: describing others lives as "indentured servitude" or "boring", even if not directed directly at a poster here) is insulting.

YTA - Not everyone has your PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER (or your bank account).
Please stop digging on us little people.

Xodian - GREAT!
You're not married to Juni, Faith, or me.

Bravo!

Enjoy you life and your wife!
(Really. That's not sarcasm.)

People chose to partner in different ways, and Juni's way (who runs an impressive house and farm), Faith's way (who has five children - some quite young - and two houses to care for), and my way (with three young children, a husband who frequently travels, and a large household to care for) are all different from your way.

Don't be a dick about it.

Ian has a great life and people get jealous.

I hate that that is one of the flaws of human nature but it is.

Don't let it drag you down, Ian.

Well thankfully not (in my perspective) but sure, I respect the fact that they have chosen the paths they have chosen. If they are truly happy with their decision then all the more power to them.

Well that statement was made in pure jest (hence the emoticons) but wow, if you actually do have such a sensitive stance on taking a statement like that personally (to the point where you think its an insult) then goodness, I have to assume that you probably have a hard time discussing things in general on the internet.

But for what its worth, that statement was not meant to be an insinuation that anyone else's life is meager because they chose a different path.

I think it is fantastic we can and do choose different paths. Each path contributes to society over all and a happy society is a functioning one.

Note who is happy and who is not.

That "could" be an indicator they need to expand their path and go make pancakes

I love my life and wouldn`t change much of it even if I could. I may bore some but they are not who I share my life, goals and love with.

Different paths, all good.

I despise when people attempt to impose (whether by force or condemnation) how they'd like to live their lives on others.

I don't know of what "Cosmic Power" is and I generally don't understand any of this astrology stuff.

I have only two sources of inspiration: (1) the love for my family, and ultimately (2) the Word of God.

You keep sounding like life is a zero sum game, where I'm benefitting at the expense of others. Whatever I have, I work brutally hard for. Everyone and anyone has access to what I have. Just have to do it. The question is how badly people want it. Most don't want to take the rocky road, and then complain about not arriving at the destination.

As for crapping on the "little people," when have I ever done that? When have I ever looked down on anyone for what they have? I comment on what people are and what they stand for, and not on what they have or lack.

You yourself live in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country, and for that matter, the world. Where do you get off behaving like you are part of the unfortunate under-privileged? Faith has two homes and a yacht. Does that sound middle class to you?

Ian, just ignore petty people who cannot appreciate your success. Every successful person has jealousy come at them.
Petty people who could never attain what you have like to throw stones.

Ignore them as if they don't exist and go on and be marvelous and wonderful. Their jealousy shows HOW great you are

This thread has been peaceful, fairly nonjudgemental and I would appreciate it being kept that way.

Just a thought to Ian, your Chiron conj the ASC is why you just can't ignore people who harass you. You feel you have to answer back. You don't! That is your lesson.
We can get back to the thread, Juni.
I just wanted to mention that to him

YTA - I like you, but I don't think you realize how you can come across sometimes.

When you have a string of people say, "This is the way I live my life," and you reply (paraphrased), "Wow! That sounds like crap indentured servitude," it's insulting.

Re: Phenomenal cosmic powers: I wasn't alluding to anything astrological. I kind of had the Genie from Alladin more in mind when I said that - say it in his voice, it makes much more sense.
Not everyone can work from 6am-10am, put their children to bed, make dinner, do laundry, clean the house, etc, etc, etc.
Not everyone would want to - or want their spouse to.
I value my husband's free time as much as I value my own, so I carry as much of the load as I can manage and be does the same.
It works out.

I'm not going to address the wealth aspect exempt to say people (in general) are short sighted and remiss if they don't acknowledge the benefits granted to them by their past, their resources, and whatever benefits to which they were born.
I don't believe further comment on the issue would be a fruitful use of my time.

Name calling is intentional to cause fighting.
Petty
jealous

assumptions cause trouble:

Yes, Juni.
I had to close the thread when YOU were intentionally baiting me so why don't we MOVE ON as Randall always suggests. Mod's should not pick at each other. This time it is you picking at me, so please stop
