I hardly ever watch them, but I've meaning to look for more since I watched Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. IP: Logged |

My ex used to rent documentaries from the library (we lived next door to it) all the time. I've seen some great ones, it will take me awhile to remember the names of them though. This one came to mind: http://www.thecovemovie.com/ see if your library has it. It made me misty eyed (angry/sad tears). It's a must watch for everyone on this planet imo, though. IP: Logged |

I thoroughly enjoyed Grass due to being mostly historical (showing old commercials, news clips, etc), and also Atomic Cafe which I think was entirely historical (that is IIRC there was NO narration, it was just films, news, propaganda, school drills, etc all related to how the atomic bomb changed the world). Both also had a lot of black comedy (ie, gallows humor) that appealed to me as well. I've seen all sorts of documentaries, however, and I might add more later, but at this late hour for me when I should be in bed those are the only 2 I recall offhand that I loved while having no complaints about them whatsoever. Hmmm...I'm not sure what I'd recommend. I think I'd recommend against Morgan Spurlock. His documentaries routinely leave out context, and/or get things wrong.IP: Logged |

Ancient Mysteries - Astrology: Secrets in the StarsNot just because it's Astrology, it's just one of my favorites! Otherwise, I watch all sorts and can't remember names. Docs on prisons and things like that, or mysteries of the past unsolved like the Alcatraz escape. IP: Logged |

I'm disappearing for a while - too burned out on certain things to be here, but I wanted to say thank you for the recommendations. I've written them all down.
