SLEEPY HOLLOW FINALE MONDAY 20! TONIGHT.
adore this show....
deviates both from the book and the movie. after all, in the book, crane never cared for van tassel, and then burton made them a romantic pair in the movie.
but one of the best things i adore...is how practical the characters are, if stuff happens, there is not too much drama (x forgot to tell this important info to y)...nope, they're very direct...
also, women kick ass, they are vulnerable, strong, smart..everything and, their roles do not depend on a male interest. so...the show def. passes the bechdel test.

and, so much diversity! interracial friendships/romance...(the minorities are not getting killed off first like in other shows or, are have non-existent roles)
adore the two main characters ichabod crane and abbie mills (nicole beharie is such a great actress!)
it just seems more like how america truly is...that is, diverse.

so so finale.
the character of katrina crane is serving no purpose...
just a weak plot device.
should have never existed in the show.

She was a good decoy to distract us during the season. And was the second horseman's mother.

yes...a plot device...
the issue is that thus far, the showrunners keep saying that she is more than that, and a powerful witch but the viewers dont see it.
this is where imo, the writers are doing it wrong....
season 1, ichabod was adamant of rescuing her, now, she has been taken (again) by abe....and i sure hope season 2 is not her needing to be saved again...
she just has little agency, which is fine, but maybe they shouldn't have made her into that much of an important character...as opposed to lyndie greenwood (plays jenny mills, and happens to be a guest star) but far more of an interesting and better actress than katia winter.
katrina is actually the least favored character
and the crane couple has been considered as one of the worst tv couples, which is good, since...they are not supposed to have chemistry after all, and obviously, they are not ending up together...
beharie and mison were tested together for a few hours (winter and mison werent) and they passed with flying colors, which tells me that the showrunners wanted chemistry between the two leads for...a reason.
im still struggling as to whether abbie was a heroine versus a sacrificial lamb. im going to have to rewatch the finale again...
on one hand, she made her own decision...on the other hand, it is boring to see the old tv trope of the minority sacrificing themselves at the expense of 'white' character....
jeremy was given to the dixons, the dixons burn to death
abbie stays behind in purgatory, now she is trapped...
it is like the cranes just give her bad luck...lol

i called it, jeremy being henry parrish.....but i had no idea he would be death, this was quite a surprise.

im hoping for more of macey irving, im sure she will be important in this war.

I find it interesting that several shows have already had finales. I stopped watching Dracula two episodes in, and Sleepy Hollow, but meant to get back to that one.
