That is a wonderful gift YTA! You are a very fortunate man, and you probably worked very hard for it. Kudos and be proud

Do you mean like a Christmas or birthday present? Or like anything?

The first thing that comes to mind is the skateboard Granny got me for my 14th birthday. She got it secretly while she left me at the Tyler Rose Festival which in itself is a good memory for me. What was especially sweet about it is that she was always trying to girl me up and back then girls on skateboards were almost unheard of (at least in Texas) and I was under doctor's orders to gain weight as well. But she knew how I'd always wanted one since I was 11 though she tried to talk me out of it, but seeing how I still wanted one and all the hard times I had she spent good money for it because she wanted me to have the best birthday and it let me know she loved ME, not some fantasy she had of me.

The memories I had with it were sweet as well and it developed character as I fell (and even got stung by bull nettles and yellow jackets when I crashed into a ditch) only to get back on that board again and again. About a year and a half later I was so good with it that I got dubbed "Thrasher" and it was part of my identity. I cried, crushed, when it was stolen from me, and even getting another board when I was 17 was bittersweet because it wasn't a board Granny had gotten me so it wasn't imbued with the unconditional love and acceptance.

Of course I can debate many other choices. I won't include family because that's not a gift, that's something I created for myself and earned though I love them dearly and a gift my girl made for me herself nearly made me cry it was so sweet. Other gifts added a lot of laughter. But I suppose the greatest gift, if one wants to be all encompassing about the term, is when I was given sanctuary from the streets as a kid. I hadn't earned that, such was pure mercy and compassion and it changed my life for the better.

My wife's love . Hands down.

If I had it my way, she wouldn't even have to give me gifts for special occasions. She just has to be there and I'll be the happiest person in this world.

The best ever was for my birthday this past may.

My partner, who doesn't believe in astrology, did research just to find a few notable astrology books for me.

I was extremely impressed because 1) I love practical gifts I can actually use and 2) because, despite the fact that he doesn't believe in astrology (or know anything about it aside from what I tell him), he still went out of his way to find reputable books. It also showed me that he supports me in my interests

That was a rather ugly looking gnome statue. My BF listened to one of my 'fantasy stories' & found the "lepricorn character" in it & send it to me with a sweet little note that he found the bugger I was talking/writing about while he was abroad...

I know how that is with getting a certain gift from a loved one, the gift cant be replaced, even if it is the exact same item. The sentimental part always holds dearest with a gift.

Have to say the same about my husband, he has shown me a type of love I didn't even know could be possible. He showed me what real love was all about. Before him I had no idea what it was like to be unconditionally loved by another person

Having someone actually want to find out more about what your really into even though they don't believe is a great gift of thoughtfulness. Its like since its a part of you, he wants to be a part of it also, just to be closer

That's cute! Some of the best gifts are the ones that are different and unexpected!

Lol, Salvador Dali was an awesome painter even though he was on the eccentric side. Love his melted clocks surreal work! He must have been a really interesting guy to go and drink with.

A friend of mine, former LL member - extremely talented astrologer, whom i am still close to. long gone from the forums, donated money in my name to an animal shelter. I thought that was pretty awesome.

That would have to be the best gift i can think of.
