Who is looking forward to the winter olympics and what are your favorite games? I love figure skating , gymnastics, downhill sking and bobsledding. The Jamaican , yes tropical snowless Jamaica, has another bobsled team this year! quote: It's the first time the Jamaican bobsled team will compete in the games since 2002. The invitation comes after Watts accumulated enough points in lower-tier races in North America to qualify."Oh, man, it's really overwhelming," Watts said in a telephone interview Monday. "I'm really happy. I have the whole entire world behind us. The Jamaica bobsled team is very popular, but when I see and hear that the whole entire world, even the Middle East — I mean, really, there's a place in the Middle East that calls me and I don't even know its name — we have fans from so far away. For a little tiny island, it's so emotional."

I am really excited that we have the Olympics coming up soon!! I plan to make it a point to watch all the figure skating, skiing/ski jumping, and curling competitions (rooting for my fellow Canadians!). In reality though, we will probably end up watching a bunch of other sports that my hubby will want to watch, like speed skating, snowboarding, skeleton, luge, etc., as well - not that I will mind! That is quite remarkable that Jamaica has a bobsled team despite the lack of snow - that's some determination to succeed!! IP: Logged |

The new game/sport to join the Olpmpics , Slopestyle, started before the opening ceremony. I was disappointed to see Shawn White dropped out... BUT, when I saw the figure in a ski mask, [ I wasn`t quick enough to catch the knife] on the bottom of Russian Alexey Sobolevs snowboard , I knew the protests had begun as well Last nights events was a taste of what is yet to come http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/06/***** -riot-snowboard-alexey-sobolev_n_4737113.html ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. I definitely am looking forward to the winter games, they are always fun to watch. I'm probably going to watch speed skating, skeleton, luge, ski jumping and of course, hockey! Russia said they were going to beat Canada on home soil at Vancouver. :PGo Canada Go! I'll also cheer for the US if the canucks aren't participating in that sport. IP: Logged |

Canada has some superior people this year. I believe I read Canada is sending along 221 athletes to Sochi. Even with that broken rib, Mark McMorris looked impressive last night . I saw all the Cdn athletes, it was huge! I hope there aren't any fights btn Canada/US woman's hockey at the games. IP: Logged |

I hope no fights on either team. I just hope U.S. or Canada bring home the Hockey Gold!! I haven`t heard how many Americans but did read this: quote: The 2014 @USOlympic Team will be the largest athlete delegation for any nation in the history of the Olympic Winter Games. #GoTeamUSA,” tweeted the US Olympic team from their official Twitter account on Monday.

Is that a Canadian channel? No we don`t. Our main channels are CBS, NBC and ABC. NBC is carrying the Olympics. Even with the commentators explaining, I got a little lost during the history of Russia. I didn`t follow their symbolism very well. All in all is was quite lovely! ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. So, US has one gold on first day! Canada has a bronze. Nicely done Hm, I'm a bit torn, there's a Cdn and Brit competing against each other in figure skating. IP: Logged |
