Node,
The best hug ever

The wisteria reminds me of the beautiful lavender pics you posted once.

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze

Oh, I love that one, Juni!

Did you know his sister Dorothy was Very instrumental to his Poetry?

She kept very precise records of things they saw on their walks, so that he could write the Words with Imagery intact.

We are deeply indebted to her.

Couldn't find the White one, so the Pink will have to do. They are both ten feet tall, and in the sheltered flower bed in the brick alcove right outside my front door.

This greeted me yesterday as I gazed out on my Misty Mountain Morning view:

Ellyn's Ode to Lindaland Lost

O, fragile white dove
Thou dost flutter o'er my door
Waking me to beauty unbeknownst before

When LindaLand did not heed
my time of need
beckoned forth in vain

once wrought by rain
this limpid white flag
at least espied by eyes unseen

God is so amazing. If you plant one seed, you can get a veggie, fruit or flower with many, many seeds. God multiplies everything to show His abundant love. Blessings to everyone!

The long awaited , Glory-of-the-Snow ,pokes through the snowy ground with their happy faces.

The botanical name for glory-of-the-snow is Chionodoxa, which is based on two Greek words: chion (snow) and doxa (glory).

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Ellynlvx,
lovely Camellia pic . I have only seen them in South Carolinas botanical gardens and floral shops.

In Nature's poem flowers have each their word
The rose of love and beauty sings alone;
The violet's soul exhales in tenderest tone;
The lily's one pure simple note heard.
The cold Camellia only, stiff and white,
Rose without perfume, lily without grace,
When chilling winter shows his icy face,
Blooms for a world that vainly seeks delight.
Yet, in a theatre, or ball-room light,
I gladly see Camellias shining bright
Above some stately woman's raven hair,
Whose noble form fufils the heart's desire,
Like Grecian marbles warmed by Phidian fire

White Camellia, Honore de Balzac

My fave flower is the Sunflower. I planted mammoth Sunflowers and they are huge. Then, you can get 100 seeds from each one and plant 100 new ones( or eat them)

Yeah, I was born and raised down near Santa Cruz, and I nurtured mine for five years down there.

I saw them out in people's yards and loved them so much!

Then I moved to the Mountains.

First Winter, phttt...

It was gone.

But now I live in the Valley!

I have two of these, just like the ones in the picture, pink and white entwined, ten foot tall right outside my door, enhancing the Mountain View!

So, see, Spring does come to us all...

Indeed, Camellias don`t do winters .

I`m currently finishing a series of four jigsaw puzzles to add flowers to my dreary mental landscape. I got the series at a second hand shop for $2

It is challenging and fun!

A Red, Red Rose

O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare thee well, my only Luve
And fare thee well, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile.

Life is a garden,

Good friends are the flowers

And time spent together

Life's happiest hours...

And friendship like flowers,

Blooms ever more fair

When carefully tended

By dear friends who care.

I thought of Charmaine when I bumped into this spring beauty

Delight in the warmth and beauty of the season, with a dazzling display of edible daffodils!

Made easily from candy-coated marshmallows, bountiful blooms spring forth swiftly…

No bulbs or shovels required!

I want Spring to show up, I'm antsy as hell, and depressed. My birthday is in two months and one day, and I hope we aren't still having snow at that point.
