As in LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE with all my heart???

DISNEYWORLD!

My mother owned her own travel business when I was a kid, bus tours you know, and the first trip I ever went on was to DisneyWorld. I was 5 years old, and back then you had to buy a ticket book and use so many tickets per ride LOL! When we got to Orlando, I remember looking out the window and being amazed that every house had a swimming pool and those PALM TREES!

We stayed in a motel, where you entered your room from the outside LOL..and across the street was a McDonald's in the middle of an orange grove, where you could get fresh squeezed orange juice.

The Magic Kingdom was the only park there at that time and it was just that...magic...We went twice a year, spring break and Thanksgiving, almost every year of my kid/teen life.

I'm going again this Thanksgiving and I am so excited I could burst!

Ok..enough day dreaming...back to work!

What places do you love??

How long since you've been?

At least in Disneyland (Anaheim) it's extremely crowded (I met one who about freaked out over the number of people) with very long lines, one in which rides and features can close down without warning. And you better believe the kids take that even worse than the adults.

From what I heard I'd have thought Disneyworld in Florida would be even worse for that.

Not to say one shouldn't go...I've gone to Disneyland more than once and one day I'd like to take a Disney cruise, but it's a pleasure I have to brace myself for, and it sounds as if you don't experience that which I'd have thought was only true if you actually worked for Disney (say like Miley Cyrus who got the park to herself once for her birthday, and what was shown of it did make it seem a magical experience). Holidays were the worst for that and I'd never go then. So I just wondered if you used to go like say 20-30 years ago (I have no idea if they were the same back then as today). But if you got taken every year in a happy home starting at 5 then I could see the nostalgia value alone making it worth it to you.

As for me, I think the redwoods on the California-Oregon border, and some of the beaches up the coast there, are the most beautiful and I love camping there.

I've also enjoyed the Venice Boardwalk more than once, enjoying its many features and people and going all the way to Santa Monica, but I haven't been in years and I don't know if I ever will again. It's sorta like a Disneyland for those on a strict budget.

Perhaps it's all my Sag but I actually dream more about places I haven't been. I've especially got my heart set on hiking (alone) the Rob Roy Way in Scotland (while I was there I'd like to look up more about "my clan" on my father's side and would love to be with someone I know also descended from a Scottish clan) as well as taking an Antarctica cruise (which would include exploring a forest near the city in Argentina where the cruise starts).

I haven't been since 1999 so I'm excited to go again this Thanksgiving. My youngest daughter is now 16 and she doesn't remember going when we took her and my other daughter, so it's going to be really fun I think.

I like to think about places I haven't been too...I would love to go to Germany to the forest areas...Bavaria...also Bora Bora...Sandwich, England...the Loch Ness Lake...Nova Scotia...

I would like to return to Hawaii...Vancouver BC...

I would LOVE to live in Charleston SC too!

And Ra, I thought you lived in Georgia? When did you move to the Bourbon Capital of the World? LOL!

Randall...it's as magical as one can imagine, it's the happiest place on earth!
