It's semi-fictional but it's good.

Do you like it Mae?

I had high hopes, but I heard it was a copy of the modern era game of thrones style genre and quite exaggerated and unbelievable.

I really hoped for something good with a Da Vinci show, but I am often reconciled to having my hopes dashed with modern scripts.

It seems to me that with the advent of technology, basic good story skills have gone the way of the dinosaur.

Really, it is such a poignant tale in and of itself; when you consider the life and times of such a man, that you would think it could be well done, even in this day of over-emphasis on the dramatically spectacular special effects and such.

But of course I haven't seen it.

Ellyn, I personally like it a lot. I am very in awe with Tom Riley's acting, I think he's brilliant! He's playing Da Vinci and I think in some scenes he was simply amazing, managed to capture his passion, restlessness, mad genius very very well. I've just started to watch it and I have not seen Game of Thrones so I can't compare them, but yes, so far, I think it's very good.

That's good.

I hate it when they ruin all the cool stuff.

It's full of hunks for what it's worth and they don't shy from frontal nudity, on both sexes.

I tried to get into it but only made it through one episode. I think what bothered me was the guy in the leather pants and the pirate shirt open to his bellybutton. If I remember correctly, that was meant to be DaVinci and it seemed ridiculous to me... morel like he should have been in a New Wave band.

And I thought the acting was terrible.

I was bummed out.

Hahaha, I hated the first episode too, lol. Thought Da Vinci was too arrogant and overall the characters didn't seem "real" enough. They got the hang of it though! Episode 5 or 6, idr which, was that was some great acting! I was very impressed.

Maaaaaaybe I'll try to watch a couple more episodes then.

Not that I don't enjoy campy shows or anything. I watch Hemlock Grove - the acting is pretty bad in that and it's fully of cheesy camp!
