Yesterday when I was sitting on my couch, I was thinking I had seen something whoosh by the window-door, and well honestly I wanted to make sure it is not a rat (I am living in a very small town with lots of undergrowth and fields around), but when I got to the other window, I saw that a little baby rabbit was sitting on my terrace and chewing a bit of dandelion growing out between my stones.
He was actually seeing me and looking at me, and then took quite a bit of time to slowly hop away. LOL

This reminded me that a few months ago I had also had rabbits almost regularly cross my paths.
Makes me think they might try to tell me something.

(I notice that during certain times in my life certain animals will cross my paths; crows for example usually cross my way when I am about to make a big decision, and if they crow very loudly I become aware that I am about to take the wrong turn, works like clockwork. Everytime.
Doves seem to never really leave my side. my mom even tells that when I was born a couple of doves were starting to nest under the window of the room I was sleeping in, and when we moved towns, it seemed like they moved with us, cause just when we moved in into our new house, there was a couple of doves, nesting in the tree in front of my window. lol)

about that rabbit I get a nice feeling, too. I like them.

I don`t know I am probably utterly crazy, but sometimes I feel like some animals are trying to talk to me (unfortunately I do not know their language very well).
I guess I am just having a very vivid imagination.

But it also happened that about 2 years ago the neighbours cat came to me to say goodbye before he died.
He suddenly was in front of my door and even IN my kitchen, telling me something, and then he left.
He was a very shy cat and never ever put a paw into my appartment before, he just used to circle it, when I was pretty much all alone at home (and my parents were gone), it sometimes seemed like he was guarding the house.

So with all his shyness and keeping the distance, it was very unusual for him to come into my appartment, but he didn`t want to stay there, he just came in, meowed for several minutes at me, then turned around, left, and the next day I heard he had died.
I had no idea he was sick, so that was quite a shock.

Anyway, animals and their way to interact with us humans are really intriguing to me, though some people do not even register how they do, it seems.

Hi Ceridwen,

ultimately all life comes from the same source, so it seems only logical that sensitive people with a mystic streak would be able to pick up on the vibes of animals (and plants), and communicate with them, don't you think? Just think of all the stories of mystics who had special relationships with certain animals, such as St Francis who preached to the birds, and tamed a wolf; or the Hindu saint Ramana Maharshi who sometimes had wild animals (Cobras and Tigers even) visit him when he sat down meditating. Daniel and the lions would be another example, and there are many more such stories to be found in all the major religions.

I once read a news report about a girl in Sub-Saharan Africa who was kidnapped by thugs, but managed to flee her abductors into the wild, only to stumble upon a pride of lions. Terrified, she simply lay down on the ground and expected to be killed. But the lions not only left her unharmed, they surrounded her and shielded her from her pursuers when they came for her. In the end the girl was able to make her way home alive and unharmed. This was in the news a few years ago, unfortunately I lost the link.

My theory is that animals, much like small children, have an innate ability to pick up on the vibes of people and if these vibes are somehow "pure" (for lack of a better word), lacking aggression, but also lacking fear, even dangerous animals will calm down and not feel threatened, and other animals will be drawn to such people and communicate with them in various ways.

awwww. it's so sweet. It is true, Ceri. It's your Neptune. My Sag sister (Sun conjunct Neptune, Dec. 19) is a biologist and she can communicate with animals. Also, wild or unpredictable animals calm down in her presence.
