Anyone a fan of this show? It's one of my favorites. Now there's a Couples version, which is just as great. I think what makes it so good is the commentator. So funny!!!Awhile back i looked to see if there was a US version and apparently one aired at one point but was cancelled after a few episodes - it was terrible (no surprise there). Love that Brit humor! And i look forward to this program every night. I'll see if i can find some full episodes on youtube later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_Dine_with_Me http://www.channel4.com/programmes/come-dine-with-me IP: Logged |

I watch it. Also enjoy Brit humor. Other Brit shows I prefer to the US ones are Brits Got talent and the Brit version of X factor. Also some comedies. ------------------ Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma. Liliya, yeah he (the narrator) really makes the show! *edit I was talking about BB UK, but i would rather talk about it in a new thread if anyone else is watching. Let's leave this one about Come Dine With Me. (saying to self, mostly lol trying to keep it on track ) IP: Logged |

Aug 1st episode....Did anyone else want to give the "Texan American girl" a black eye? joking. How annoying was she though? I wish i had a magic wand that could shut her up. I have to wonder if the reason why i like this show so much is because of the the thick, various, often completely incomprehensible (to me) accents that come along with it ("What did he/she just say?) If I were in the UK and could make out everything these people were saying most of the time, it might not be as funny. Maybe that's why i love it so much. IP: Logged |

With the Texan woman.....I think she knows that all she has going for her is what must appear to foreigners to be a sexy American accent to that poor Brit bloke. Hey, at least he seems smitten with her. Too bad he doesnt realize she's white trash.IP: Logged |

I've watched half of one show so far, and the narrator cracks me up,too. I love the super blunt remarks given in a cheerful, sing-songy kinda way. IP: Logged |

Now I'm curious. Are they strong Northern accents, or something? People couldn't always understand me, when I moved over here (with the cockney-ish accent). I couldn't always understand them, either. Like "What's a 'meer'?" (They were saying, "mirror.") IP: Logged |

Faith, yes. Teasel, the competition takes place all over the UK, it's different every time. I notice I have a hard time with the Northern accents sometimes too. There should be a new one up. Going to check it out. Have a good night girls! IP: Logged |
