One minute before you. Do you still want your thread closed? It is not necessary to close it.

He was far far far more than just a common "joker". Many of his works were wonderful, beautiful, heart rending and extremely serious. IP: Logged |

Nanoo Nanoo! I saw a late night interview with him some years ago. He spoke on his addictions and the struggles with them and reaching middle age. Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams are my favs. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Yeah, "What Dreams may Come" was different, as was "The Fisher King.""August Rush" brought to Light many of the societal problems he worked to help. I forgot "Good Morning, Vietnam." That was good, too. I think many of the best contributions were to children, he was obviously a child at Heart. IP: Logged |

I've been watching clips and crying with laughter...he was so incredibly good at what he did. A true clown in the best sense of the word, so aware of the absurdities, struggles and inequities of life and so bighearted and compassionate too.I find suicide all too easy to believe; its a hard road for open hearts. What I find hard to swallow is that someone with such enormous brainpower would try to slit his wrists with a pocket knife...was he totally bombed on something? Looking forward to the new movies too... ♡ IP: Logged |

Maybe one of the most amazing legacies he will leave behind is helping to awaken people to the truth about clinical depression, mental illnesses and alcoholism through his departure.I was watching CNN the other night and they had a panel of six professionals talking about the truth about severe clinical depression, alcoholism, the genetic components, also what heart surgery does to a person on emotional and other levels after surgery. I couldn't help but think of what a major impact his passing could have besides people being a fan of his movies or comedy, when you can get past that and delve into the truths of the matter. There is really so much more to learn from his life and death. I think he was an angel sent to earth. Rest in Peace, Robin. IP: Logged |

Yes but Parkinson's is a long slow decline for most...beginning stages give one a pretty good long window before it becomes disabling let alone fatal...look @ michael fox!! However it is very linked to depression as it affects the processing of dopamine. IP: Logged |
