BION!Or should I say - an SMS abbreviation. BION stands for 'BELIEVE IT OR NOT'. Sounds a little clunkish, I must admit. I seem to want to use this phrase often, particularly on LL, and wondered if any other would do instead. These could be - Would you believe - WYB Hard to believe - HTB (this one sounds like a disease!) Any suggestions? ps. I'm dipping into trivia because I have an essay to complete in about two hours.

Awwwww! You all are so nice!Essay completed. Now I can relax and indulge in wishful thinking. The solar eclipse is bang on my Sun at 1 degree Scorpio, so something good should come off it. Diwali, the day Goddess Parvati bestows the world with wealth and prosperity, also falls today - the day of the eclipse. BION Parvati (the asteroid) is at O degree Virgo in my chart, sextile Sun, and the eclipse exact! IP: Logged |

BUT Lexxi, BION I am thrilled to have thought of it all by myself. So, I am a co-inventor, as it were. Fine if others thought of it first. And now more people have heard it so it might just catch on. It wasn't being commonly used, was it? IP: Logged |

Well even Randall recognized it as the catchphrase made popular by Ripley in 1918. quote: Originally posted by Randall: Ripley would love it!
It was commonly used and has been for almost a century for various things, including the highly popular "BELIEVE IT OR NOT" exhibitions and show. Sorry to disappoint, but BION as an acronym has been around even before it's copyright of 1988; At Acronym Finder; about 27 years to date. It was also in popular use for Ripley's "Believe It Or Not". Almost 100 years ago! In 1918 in fact! Yes it is VERY COOL that you came about it independently! However no matter how much you wish it were so; you did not coin it first. http://www.ripleys.com/submit-bions/ HOW TO SUBMITYOUR BIONS If it's weird, unique, unusual, one-of-a-kind, or wow-worthy What is a BION? A BION can be a story, or a thing (like an artifact), or a place, or something you see, or something that you can create (like artwork), an animal, a tradition, and of course a person … like YOU. A “BION” – short for Believe It or Not – is the word we use at Ripley’s to refer to anything that is unbelievable and worthy to become part of Ripley’s lore and collection. SUBMIT OR SELL We generally accept submissions into two main categories: SUBMIT: You want to submit a BION to Ripley’s for possible publication in one of our books, our blog, or any other of our channels. SELL: You have and exhibit or artifact that you would like to possibly sell to Ripley’s. SUBMIT BIONS FOR PUBLICATION SELL AN EXHIBIT OR ITEM I want to submit a BION for possible publication Use this form to submit a "BION" for review and possible publication in one or multiple of Ripley's channels including; books, blogs, social media spaces, etc. ________________ SEE THE PAGE AT THIS LINK FOR SUBMISSION FORM AND DETAILS. http://www.ripleys.com/submit-bions/ There are images for these statements at that page. A BION CAN BE A PERSON A BION CAN BE AN ANIMAL A BION CAN BE A CREATION A BION CAN BE A COLLECTIBLE A BION CAN BE ALMOST ANYTHING! Again I am sorry if my findings have upset you. IP: Logged |

Ripley began BELIEVE IT OR NOT or BION, in about 1918. That was nearly 100 years ago to date! http://www.ripleys.com/our-story/robert-ripley/ I thought you might enjoy the facts. Again sorry if you are upset.
