I just saw the preview for it on TV and it looks fantastic. It comes out later this month. Can't wait to see this one.

I don't like the look of it, but I didn't think a remake was needed.

DUDE..it is more reasonable than the IT remake they are doing. Pennywise the clown was the bane of my childhood nightmares! I cannot believe they are remaking that. No one can top Tim Curry's performance, that was legendary.

I have faith in Cary Fukanaga though, he is an incredible director. But yeah, would not rather not have the remake.

Poltergeist I kind of feel is the same, being a cult classic and all. Hopefully it turns out well though.

I heard they're also remaking The Craft. They're taking everything from my childhood and teen years, and killing them. Poltergeist was one of my favourites. I still give fuzzy television screens a side-eye.

They were supposed to Re-make the Child's Play movies but that fell through.

I am so NOT here for The Craft remake! Fairuza Balk was a legend in that movie, you cannot replace her!

How are they supposed to replicate the older woman in the poltergeist (forget her name)? No one can replace that performance either.

They should make a horror movie about an evil webmaster named Randall.

I haven't been to the movies since one of the Pirate's of the Carribean sequels (Johnny Depp has a way of luring a girl to the theater every few years)

May have to go see this one though...

I'm watching it online. So far, it isn't nearly as good as the original.

It bombed in theatres and is rated terribly, which is why they just had a major blip with the IT remake-same producers as the Poltergeist. Fukunaga dropped out due to disagreements, and they were supposed to start filming in 2-3 weeks. New Line wanted more of a commercial "Shining" type of film, whereas Fukunaga wanted to divide the film into child and adult parts with a more artistic feel, which makes way more sense.

Rambling, but that is why you have to be very careful with remakes, most are terrible and hard to replicate.

I thought the remake was great. It was updated for modern times, and it had some differences from the original that worked for me. I don't think the goal was to replicate it. Mad Max, on the other hand, I thought was horrible. If they remake IT, I will give go see, and I liked the original even though that obviously fake spider creature at the end was incredibly lame.
