It's a pretty good ending. And it doesn't end in a cliffhanger. All the androids survive if that's what you're worried about.IP: Logged |

I've gotten the series on Amazon Instant Video and have been watching season 1 again.I just wanted to say that it left a lot out, at least in the earlier eps. It was mostly small stuff, yet it was the stuff that hooked me. These cut scenes are the ones that caused me to care about the synths/androids, and I doubt I'd have gotten into it without them. In fact, I was giving thought to deleting the series from my video library and being real careful in finding another source for it (probably to never do so as I couldn't be sure it had the cut scenes in it or not). For example, when I caught an uploaded version where Niska escapes the brothel, they show her putting on her trench coat and puts a book into her pocket. She has perfect memory (or close enough), and thus doesn't need the book, so it struck me as how sentimental she was, how she had feelings and had lost something very precious to her before she ended up in the brothel, rather than merely self-aware who decided to no longer take orders from inferior humans. But Amazon (or wherever they got it from) saw fit to cut this out, and it wasn't the only significant scene to me that got cut. Episode 6, however, seemed to have everything, for which I was grateful as it would've been ruined it completely IMO if they'd done what they did in earlier eps, and I'm pretty sure that if they had then I'd have deleted the entire series from my library despite being unable to get a refund. In any case, I have no plans to catch future seasons of this show on AIV, and I'll think twice before getting any other non-American series from them as well. IP: Logged |

That was one reason we didn't keep Amazon Prime: mum watched her favourite show on there, and noticed they'd cut things from it. I think that's normal for them to do if it's running in repeats on a different channel (I heard that, years ago), but when you're paying for the access to the show, you should get all of it, in my opinion. I heard they had the uncut version of Downton Abbey (which I've only watched once, but mum and sister loved it). PBS apparently cut parts out of it. If I ever watch it, I'll try finding it online, or order in the DVDs. IP: Logged |

Do they cut scenes from American shows as well?So far, I haven't noticed, but many of the shows I got I haven't seen in many years (even more than a decade), or it was my first viewing. I do know they cut some Battlestar Galactica scenes in a similar way, but as far as I know it was only for a two-parter, and the scenes were gut wrenching to watch (as in I'm surprised it aired on Primetime and I bet they lost viewers over it), or required to have seen them to make sense of the dialog that was also cut.
