In the 15th annual Arctic Report Card, released by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), researchers detail the stark ways in which climate change is altering the long-frozen region. (music) The Cold Song {What Power Art Thou} (Neil Balfour, song from Purcell Opera, King Arthur, lyrics) [4:39] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwbFDoXpDZU Performer named 'Sting' did a version of the same song. Medieval Composer Henry Purcell originally indicated that each note is to be sung singly detached from the sound of the next {called staccato}. The character he wrote this for was supposed to be slowly freezing to death. Sting made the song more melodic. Loved his rendition. [4:09] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kANE25lLjqQ IP: Logged |
