I stop traffic to rescue turtles that are stuck in the middle of the road. Five lanes of traffic? No problem, I’m pulling over to help you out little buddy. IP: Logged |

Haha, Turtle Rescuer Extraordinaire. But seriously, that's pretty cool. My partner had a dream about our symbolic animal associations and mine was a turtle. Wasn't sure how I felt about that, but when I found out that a number of Native American tribes put turtles on quite a pedestal, I was like, ok, I can vibe with that. But, it has created something of a monster, because now I go around and say/do this all the time... http://youtu.be/sKlpRG6tweo (Ok, I don't really do/say that) IP: Logged |

But if I ever need to be rescued (and this quite likely to happen being born under Crappacorn), now I know who to call!IP: Logged |

Same. I love that my dad slowed down to encourage geese to get out of the road, too. We once slowed down for a deer, and then saw something else on the other side of the road, but I can’t remember what it was. One thing I love about my area, is that most people look out for animals. Although there is one woman who admitted she watches people with binoculars, which is a bit much. IP: Logged |

Tanks Luv, and yes, I know that and that is one of the things I really like about you. In any case, there isn't a label for my political identification. Perhaps non extremist anarchist comes closest. IP: Logged |

Last year, a mama possum was proudly strutting across the road with her head in the air and I swear a smile on her face (she was lactating, so her babies were likely in her pouch). I blocked both sides of the road with my car till she made it to the other side. We have a bad problem in Georgia with possums and armadillos getting squished by cars. Not on my watch! IP: Logged |

Beethoven’s "Ode to Joy" is in the final movement of this highly intelligent composer's last and most famous symphony, Symphony No.9 or "Choral" Symphony, as it is also known, that premiered in Vienna in 1824. Schiller's poem inspires Beethoven who decides to set it to music with indisputable success! The poem is not just an ode to joy. It is the celebration of brotherhood. It is the triumphant victory of the united mankind in its fight for freedom, justice and peace. Ode to Joy (1785) / by Friedrich Schiller
Oh friends, no more of these sounds! Let us sing more cheerful songs, More full of joy!
Joy, bright spark of divinity, Daughter of Elysium, Fire-inspired we tread Thy sanctuary! Thy magic power reunites All that custom has divided; All men become brothers Under the sway of thy gentle wings. Whoever has created An abiding friendship, Or has won A true and loving wife, All who can call at least one soul theirs, Join in our song of praise! But any who cannot must creep tearfully Away from our circle. All creatures drink of joy At nature’s breast. Just and unjust Alike taste of her gift; She gave us kisses and the fruit of the vine, A tried friend to the end. Even the worm can feel contentment, And the cherub stands before God! Gladly, like the heavenly bodies Which He set on their courses through the splendor of the firmament; Thus, brothers, you should run your race, As a hero going to conquest. You millions, I embrace you. This kiss is for all the world! Brothers, above the starry canopy There must dwell a loving Father. Do you fall in worship, you millions? World, do you know your Creator? Seek Him in the heavens! Above the stars must He dwell. Symphony No.9 in D Minor, Op. 125 / by Ludwig van Beethoven

I was trying to find the appropriate thread yesterday late at night and I fell asleep with the tablet in my hands. I apologise, it was a long day... I hope you don't mind my being late one day and my posting it here. Eugène Delacroix
