I recently saw a sobering statistic that said over 700,000 men committed suicide in America in 2022. Usually, in such cases, people always say they were shocked to learn that a "loved one" had taken their own life. But as a depressed man who tries to confide in people I've learned that nobody gives a damn about me or my pain. People actually get angry when I try to have a genuine conversation about how I'm feeling inside. It's inconvenient. That's why almost a million men in this country were hurting so bad they saw no way out but suicide last year. Also, people always act like how you are feeling is a choice. It's not. Severe depression is not a choice. You can't just wish it away or make it go away by faking positivity.IP: Logged |

I've been there too, I understand what you are talking about. My depression was drug-induced by some incompetent doctor (some sort of bad reaction) I'm from the middle east where good doctors are scarce.Wishing you all the best my friend IP: Logged |

What you shared is felt by alot of Men, in-fact just yesterday I saw vid this and its worth a look...Im not doing great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A97-ntfnLD4 Also the comments, many people (Men) chiming in... saying similar and offering support. And here is just one of the comments near the top l'll be honest. I have no idea who you are, I've never seen any of your videos. Hell, I don't even play or care about Diablo Immortal. But for some reason, this showed up in my feed today, and I'm glad I clicked on it. Thank you for doing your part to normalize mental health struggles for men. It is something so few people are willing to talk about because so many people think that showing your emotions like this and making yourself vulnerable like this is somehow "unmanly". You're absolutely right. These feelings and voices in your head are absolutely not grounded in reality. Even someone who looks like they have all their **** together can be feeling like this on the inside. All you can do is learn to cope with it and live with it day by day. Stay strong brother, and I hope tomorrow is better. ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;} IP: Logged |

My brother brought up a really good point yesterday. He pointed out how most successful go-getter type young people are on Adderall today, which functions as a performance enhancing drug for them. I've met a lot of these people at university over the years. Any way, my brother made that profound point point about how people put up a false front of perfection but that often comes from drugs like Adderall that they don't usually talk about. Knowing this, I don't feel inclined to compare myself to others because I came by everything honest. I got through undergrad and earned my degree with add and depression and low energy. I made it work. IP: Logged |

I'm acquainted with women who need ADHD meds to function. Life is really hard for them. I know you mentioned men, but they were lucky enough to be diagnosed when they were kids. And please don't come at me, about not understanding. I'm at an extremely low point, and only just got out of bed a little while ago, when I didn't want to get up at all. IP: Logged |
