What a lady!

This video contains an interesting occurrence that is present in our country (i.e. the rise of the ignorance cultivated by false multiculturalism). If we think about it, barring the sensationalism that might come with it, this ignorance arises from the importance that people place on the values of multicultural idealism. But, for the most part, this is done with the ambiguity of abstract thought that is not grounded in the living effort that it takes to make those ideals a living impetus.

Eleanore brought up a good point, in another thread, about how those who object to the intolerance of Christian radicalism often do so in a way that is driven by the exact same character to which they object. This is the kind of hypocrisy that one can expect from ignorance but, moreover, there is a more substantial point here that may allow us to penetrate this hypocrisy more deeply. The ignorance that is cultivated here by each party in this example is a result of the same kind of vague, abstract, lifeless thinking. It is the result of a mind that takes concepts and carelessly amalgamates them with strong emotions. They do this under the pretense that the concepts are their own simply because they understand them.

The counter to this would be a thinking that takes its source from the living fountain that is within the thinking being. It is a thinking that does not take concepts out of the world in order to possess them but, rather, it feels the concepts flow from the world itself. The concepts do not simply stimulate the mind and feelings. Instead, they come forth with the power to galvanize the thinker's character as a force of soul.

Unfortunately, we cannot even discuss certain topics without also inviting the most feverish of reactions. As the disruption of Mrs. Darwish's speech has shown, the tolerance of other cultures, beliefs, and even opinions may no longer be feigned by our ignorance. In order to tolerate something, we must first attempt to know and understand what it is we are tolerating. And we will never know that tolerance through a haphazard silence.

I personally find the palestinians and generally people in that part of the world the most stupidiest. If they were intelligent they would be rebels.
Let their brains be extinct ....earth is better off without some.

I mean remember the islam guy who threw shoes at Bush ..yuck...And Bush is not dumb - remember how fast he ducked? Bush is the one who really won that duel LOL

ok let me watch ur vid.

Thanks, T.

We can thank Rudolf Steiner and Eckhart Tolle for that depth. I've hardly the faith that it takes to give testimony of this kind of thinking. If anything, I feel that I might have experienced some subtle shade of it but I could not tell you for sure. I've done much reading on what it is about and how to understand it, but my knowledge of it is just as abstract and vague as the lifeless thinking that I'm pointing out.

Steiner makes a good point, though. He says we must know that we are bound to make mistakes as we attempt to make strides towards a future that is long before us. But that should not stop us from making the attempt with the fullest force of life that we can muster.
