So, O'Bomber set up his "Snitch on your friends, associates and family" website and nutty putty leftists sent O'Bomber emails they received from those opposed to O'BomberCare.

Then, people who never asked any questions at the site and never asked for any contact from the White House and who never contacted the White House at all began to get emails from the White House.

The purpose of sending those opposing emails to O'Bomber were for the purpose of an "enemies list".

I said at the time O'Bomber was attempting to intimidate those who oppose O'BomberCare into silence. That didn't work out so well for O'Bomber.

Now, since the O'Bomber emails have been flying out to Americans, it's come out and gotten into the news.

So, now O'bomber is making excuses and the "Snitch site" has been deactivated.

But, nutty putty leftists shouldn't worry. O'Bomber has set up another site to "Snitch out" their friends, associates and families.

White House will change e-mail rules

The White House said Sunday night that it will change its e-mail sign-up procedures.

The White House said Sunday night that it will change its e-mail sign-up procedures after some recipients of a health-care e-mail complained that they had not asked to receive updates.

“We are implementing measures to make subscribing to e-mails clearer, including preventing advocacy organizations from signing people up to our lists without their permission when they deliver petition signatures and other messages on individual’s behalf,” spokesman Nick Shapiro said in a statement Sunday night.....

Hahaha, first O'Bomber asks his nutty leftist supporters to "forward emails" opposing O'BomberCare to the White House...then, he attempts to blame others/them for his own screw up.

I thought O'Bomber was supposed to be "computer savvy". Who could believe O'Bomber didn't know that when email is forwarded....the original email sender's email address is in plain view?

Even the ACLU is upset by O'Bomber's invasion of privacy and perhaps violations of US law.

Maybe you've heard this before. If not, it's high time you were exposed to reality.

The White House has been caught lying to the American public yet again.

Look for a FOIA request for the files of Americans names on O'Bomber's enemy lists and release of the name(s) who inserted Americans names on that list.

White House says it did send unwanted e-mails
Aug 17 08:29 PM US/Eastern
By PHILIP ELLIOTT
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - After insisting no one was receiving unsolicited e-mails from the White House, officials reversed their story Monday night and blamed outside political groups for the unwanted messages from the tech-savvy operation.

White House online director Macon Phillips said in a blog posting that independent groups—he didn't name them—had signed-up their members to receive regular updates about Obama's projects, priorities and speeches.

The White House had consistently denied that anyone who hadn't sought the e-mails had received them.

"It has come to our attention that some people may have been subscribed to our e-mail lists without their knowledge—likely as a result of efforts by outside groups of all political stripes—and we regret any inconvenience caused by receiving an unexpected message," Phillips wrote.

"We're certainly not interested in anyone receiving e-mails from the White House who don't want them. That's one reason why we have never—and will never—add names from a commercial or political list to the White House list," he wrote.

The quasi-apology came hours after the top Republican on the House's oversight committee, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., asked the White House about its ambitious e-mail plan, which included a message from top political adviser David Axelrod urging support for a health care overhaul.

Issa also asked White House counsel Greg Craig whether officials were collecting names of the president's critics.

"I am concerned about the possibility that political e-mail address lists are being used for official purposes," Issa wrote. "This, again, raises questions about this administration blurring the lines between political and official business."

Issa also wanted to know how, exactly, the White House was using a separate e-mail account designed to track what it called "fishy" claims about its proposed overhaul—an account that was disabled Monday afternoon.

The White House turned to its blog to respond broadly to its critics—without mentioning Issa by name.

"An ironic development is that the launch of an online program meant to provide facts about health insurance reform has itself become the target of fear-mongering and online rumors that are the tactics of choice for the defenders of the status quo," Phillips wrote.

Issa said he wants an answer on how the administration is archiving those e-mails and what protections would be put in place to prevent it from become an enemies list.

In what seemed to be a reply, Phillips indicated there was little chance for cooperation with Issa, a member of a minority political party without significant power.

"The White House takes online privacy very seriously. As our published privacy policy makes clear, we will not share personal information submitted through the site with anyone," he wrote.

Administration officials had been dismissive of complaints that people had received unsolicited e-mail messages or that the administration was compiling an enemies list as conservative Web sites and talk radio programs have alleged.

"The fear has been expressed that the White House was asking neighbors to inform on neighbors in a government-led data collection effort," said Issa, the ranking member on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Weeks ago, White House officials asked the public to share critics' e-mails so they could fight back and correct the misconceptions. Because those e-mails are official correspondence with the White House, they must be preserved—unaltered—for decades and eventually released to the public through the National Archives.

incompetent paranoia

I so dislike tattletales and the entire concept of the White House encouraging the piss3d off neighbor to point a finger. It is/was simply too open for political or personal abuse and retaliation.
I seriously can`t imagine anyone believing this was for the good of the people

I don't think it was presented as being good for the people, though healthcare should be obviously be considered good for the people. I don't believe it was meant as a "tattletail" site as Jwhop spun it, either.

It was a site where people could forward the viral political emails they get in order that the administration might be able to comment on specific things being said. This whole euthanasia issue has made abundantly clear that very clear untruths are being disseminated.

It's interesting that someone on the Right was smart enough to sign up email addresses that would essentially bust the site.

We would be extremely naivete if we believed it was used only for viral emails, yes?

What do you suppose the gov did with the rants & fingerpointing sent to them at that address ? Since they weren`t viral emails that had been passed around, did they file thirteen them or .....

What are you supposing they would do? Keep in mind that these communications the administration collected will eventually have to be made public by law.

It would not be naive to believe that an administration trying to pass what the nation wants would want to collect all the data lines that the minority is putting forward in order to develop the countering argument.

It would also be logically beneficial to collect email addresses of those that would like to hear from the White House regarding this debate.

What would be perfectly illogical would be to give the appearance that they were collecting names for an enemy list via public means that would have to be disclosed at a later date, which could also be subjected to investigation by the Senate at an earlier date should any suspicion arise.

Likelihoods trend one way not the other.

They're going to be disclosed at a much earlier date than O'Bomber wanted.

Look for an FOIA to be filed...if it hasn't already be filed.

Lots of people want to know how their names and email addresses got on O'Bomber's opposition lists since they never contacted the White House or even asked for any information.

If Bush had done anything like this the leftists in congress, the leftist press, leftists at move.on, daily kos, demoscat underground and the rest of the leftist nuts would have gone berserk.

Hypocrisy reigns supreme in the hearts of leftists.
