how can they quote figures and in the same breath admit they aren't even testing everyone for it who they think has it? so they have NO IDEA really , do they! but hey, let's ACT NOW!!and does the fact that it is grown in chicken eggs mean a) a shortage of eggs this season and b) a new improved swine/chicken flu NEXT season?? what jerks. quote: "Many millions" of Americans have had swine flu so far, according to an estimate that CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden gave Friday. The government doesn't test everyone to confirm swine flu so it doesn't have an exact count.
For heavens sake :-\ Well, *how* "many millions" ??? 5,000,000?? 160,000,000?? My son came home from school the other day and said, "Mom I heard that 60% of the people who get swine flu have died." And I said, "What?!?" In the dearth of solid information and facts, and the fear and paranoia being promoted by the authorities (fearful/paranoid people are easier to control/manipulate), I suppose misinformation and DISinformation thrive IP: Logged |

Stop the panic. Each thread, regardless of what it says, hypes this nonsense and increases the panic.I am more worried about the seasonal flu this coming winter. They gave me swine flu medicine. bwahahaha, I am not taking that **** . "To prevent swine flu." No thanks, I think I will trust my immune system. But seriously, mods, maybe it is time to have ONE DEFINITIVE swine flu thread, and be over with it. Or better yet, ONE DEFINITIVE HEALTH THREAD! Merge of threads? -------------------- how can they quote figures and in the same breath admit they aren't even testing everyone for it who they think has it? --------------------
Because, they see the average person as an idiot, who will not catch such a thing.
-------------------- "Mom I heard that 60% of the people who get swine flu have died." --------------------
You should ask where your child has obtained this info. Fact is, not many people have died from swine flu, not enough to panic. The seasonal flu kills more, and the symptoms from that are generally more severe then swine flu On an unrelated note, this forum desperately needs some quote tags.
Edit: I know the HTML or whatever, I mean, an actual button that inserts them. IP: Logged |

There are quote tags, Carl..... if you put this tag before what you want to quote --[ QUOTE ] (with no spaces inside the brackets) and this tag after your quote -- [ /QUOTE ] (with no spaces inside the brackets) ..... then you will have your quote quote: Stop the panic. Each thread, regardless of what it says, hypes this nonsense and increases the panic.

The panic isn't about the swine flu. the panic is about the government!IP: Logged |

An average of 250,000-500,000 people die from seasonal flu every year, worldwide. The Spanish flu of 1918-1919 killed 20-100 million people. (Interestingly, coincides with World War 1). The Asian flu of 1956-1958 killed 2 million people. (Interestingly, appeared shortly after the Korean War). The Hong Kong flu of 1968-1969 killed 1 million people. (Interestingly, appears during the Vietnam War). The Russian flu of 1947-1957 coincides with World War 2. The Russian flu of 1977-1978 coincides with the Cultural Revolution in China. quote: It's not the flu I'm worried about. It's the people trying to win a war!!!

Let's do a rethink. Maybe it's a vaccination against the release of the next deadly dispersion of viral warfare. (????)

Carl, these threads are informative, not increasing painic. They're spreading info and decreasing disinfo.IP: Logged |

So, what's up with O'Bomber declaring a National Emergency over "Swine Flu" H1N1 which has killed about 1000 Americans?Regular flu, influenza kills on average 36,000 Americans each year. IP: Logged |

i wish i knew, why governments all around the world are going along with this palaver, and that is all it is. a contract with the pharmas maybe? an attempt to centralize global health services as a step to one world government? i love the way they leave you hanging, feels like the perils of pauline these days!IP: Logged |

Well, it makes lots of people suspicious when the President declares a National Emergency to deal with a problem which in numbers is 36 times smaller than the year to year average in the United States. And then, we find out there isn't sufficient H1N1 vaccine to deal with the problem...if the problem develops in the first place.

i believe it will blow over like all the other pandemic scares...and that declaring a state of emergency is just a way of assuring people it's "being taken care of"...IP: Logged |
