The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 29% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12

Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters say cutting the federal budget deficit in half in the next four years should be the Obama administration's top priority, while 23% say health care reform is most important. Rasmussen Reports has been tracking the public’s response to the priorities listed by the president in a speech to Congress shortly after he took office. Deficit reduction has been the top priority all year.

Voters are expressing a little more unhappiness with the president’s handling of ethics issues. Ethics and government corruption have now moved past the economy to be voters’ number one concern.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Tuesday, November 03, 2009

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).

The number who blame Obama’s policies for the nation’s economic woes has grown to 45%, the highest level yet. However, 49% still blame George W. Bush.

It’s Election Day. Our latest polls show a very close race in New Jersey and a solid lead for Republican Bob McDonnell in Virginia. Also, we look at what New York-23 race says about the GOP and its voters. Nearly half the conservatives nationwide do not consider themselves Republicans.

Confidence in the War on Terror has fallen to the lowest level in three years. Just 34% now believe the U.S. and its allies are winning, down from 62% earlier in the year.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove....

well seeing as the slump started in 2007 it would be hard to pin it on obama. you could say he hasn't done the job you would have wanted on it, but it would be blindness to say he created it! he didn't even hand over the first bailout.

years of living on spec and empty credit will bring about a crash every time, usually about 80 years or so apart...looking back, 1929, 1850's....yadayadayada.

all presidents have their strengths and weaknesses. well, most! and all of them get to washington to find there are a lot of pre-arranged deals and wheels already spinning that they have to deal with.

"jwop - who is one President you have admired?"

koiflower, since you specified ONE President, you've narrowed the field. So, let's start with Thomas Jefferson. To give you an idea of why, you can peruse the following.

"The Sum of Good Government

A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Monday, December 14, 2009 Email to a Friend ShareThis.Advertisement
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.

That’s a one point improvement from yesterday when Obama’s Approval Index rating fell to the lowest level yet recorded. Prior to the past three days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama’s time in office (see trends).

As the health care plan struggles in the Senate, public opposition remains stable. Fifty-six percent (56% ) oppose the plan working its way through Congress while just 40% favor it. In Nevada, the health care bill is causing problems for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s bid for re-election.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level yet measured for this president. Previously, his overall approval rating had fallen to 45% twice, once in early September and once in late November.

Fifty-five percent (55%) now disapprove...

.....A Fordham University professor rated the national pollsters on their record in Election 2008. We also have provided a summary of our results for your review. In 2008, Obama won 53%-46% and our final poll showed Obama winning 52% to 46%. While we were pleased with the final result, Rasmussen Reports was especially pleased with the stability of our results. On every single day for the last six weeks of the campaign, our daily tracking showed Obama with a stable and solid lead attracting more than 50% of the vote.

An analysis by Pollster.com partner Charles Franklin “found that despite identically sized three-day samples, the Rasmussen daily tracking poll is less variable than Gallup.” During Election 2008, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll was the least volatile of all those tracking the race.

In 2004 George W. Bush received 50.7% of the vote while John Kerry earned 48.3%. Rasmussen Reports was the only firm to project both candidates’ totals within half a percentage point by projecting that Bush would win 50.2% to 48.5%.

Earning even a middle class income makes one a hamster on a wheel?

I guess it isn't surprising that those who would be expected to approve of Pres. Obama thus far *would* fall into the filthy-stinking-rich-and-out-of-touch-with-reality or the feeding-off-of-everyone-else's-hamster-wheel categories.

Whew, that was confusing. For a minute there, I thought things might have actually changed ... for the better. Well, I can always hope, right?

"Shortly before the 2000 U.S. presidential election, millions of Americans saw a clip of George W. Bush joking to a wealthy group of people, "What a crowd tonight: the haves and the haves-more. Some people call you the elite; I call you my base." "

of course the stinking rich are less troubled by anything any president does. not that this one has as blatantly GIVEN them trillions...in fact a good deal of the money doled out at the bailouts is starting to be repaid (a concept gw would never have entertained!).

and yes, the middle class is the hamster class. even their kids are on the wheel, with the pressure for EVERYONE to go to college, largely for the purpose of getting a "good" job...not to educate themselves, mind you! so they can do what someone else tells them to for the next 40 years (and consider themselves lucky to do so)...what a blissful life it is for the majority.

even the working class has more freedom in that they have less attachment to the carrot on that stick in front of them.

generalizing of course. in a world of 6 billion there are many exceptions to the rule(s).

Sunday, February 21, 2010

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 22% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. That is the lowest level of strong approval yet recorded for this President.

Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19. The Approval Index has been lower only on one day during Barack Obama’s thirteen months in office (see trends).
