Who Rules The World?

Or, more specifically, Who Rules America?

Marijuana is illegal...

Mushrooms are illegal...

Alcohol is an institution.

Who decides this crap?

Who makes the rules for all of us?

Simply put, the people with money make the rules, by controlling the media, and lobbying the politicians, thereby manufacturing the consent of mindless automatons who internalize the views they're spoonfed.

Insurance covers murderous "treatments",
but natural healing is difficult to obtain...

The FDA pretends to protect consumers
while greenlighting toxins in the food
and in the so-called medicines...

Healthy food is cheaper and easier to obtain
in many third-world countries than in America...

Vending machines in public schools sell bottles of soda
containing the equivalent of 15 teaspoons of sugar,
in the form of high fructose corn syrup...

While organic fruits and vegetables are nowhere to be found...

Animals are tortured and slaughtered en masse
creating havoc on the environment as well as on
the bodies, minds, and souls of the consumers,
while vegan food choices are scarce in restaurants...

Is this what we call freedom?

Democracy? The free market?

Don't make me laugh.

Who do these people think they are??

Wars are fought for oil, money, power...

Thousands of innocent, poor people are bombed
and killed by our government, but when somebody
bombs us, we're told that "the world has changed", lol...

Movie stars are treated like royalty,
while brilliant heros like Howard Zinn
and Noam Chomsky can't get on television...

Coffee makes people irritable and rash,
but you can find a Starbuck's two minutes away...

Marijuana makes people chill and reflective,
but you can be locked up for smoking it...

Alcohol.. kills how many people a year?

Provokes how much domestic violence?

Vandalism? Rioting? Rape? Theft? Murder?

Marijuana opens how many minds a year?

Relaxes how many weary souls?

Mushrooms inspire higher consciousness
and profound connectedness to all life...

They're highly illegal and stigmatized,
and most of what we hear of them is pure,
fear-based propaganda...

The same can be said for numerous plants
which have been utilized for thousands of years
and considered sacred medicines by wise healers...

You'll be arrested for possessing them,
and often stigmatized for talking about them...

Mass production of useless material "goods"
is touted as the American way of life,
requiring people to work long hours at difficult tasks
that have no positive, and often highly negative,
effects upon themselves and society as a whole...

Robbing the planet of natural resouces,
robbing you of your time and energy,
polluting the air, land, and sea...

Confronting you with endless temptations,
turning people into superficial consumers...

Stigmatizing people who don't bother
to increase their material desires, and
to aquire a lot of useless status symbols...

I didn't decide any of this, -- did you?

I don't recall being consulted at all.

In fact, I have some ideas of my own.

Yeah, just a few.

And IF I RULED THE WORLD,
things would be very different.

Hey, somebody's gotta do it.

And I'd do a better job than the greedy corporations
and all the status-quo worshipping automatons,
who can't, or won't, be bothered to think for themselves.

At least my motive is the public good,
and not just filling my bank account...

Believe it or not,
you'd be overjoyed to live
in a world ruled by someone like me;
who knows which people to put in power
and which ones to show to the door.

But that's my perspective.

A lot of people would disagree.

A lot of people don't think.

Okay, rant ended.

I'm just curious as to how you'd handle the daily coup d'état attempts.

things are changing valus, due to the efforts of many hundreds and thousands who paved the road for you. in california (where, it is said, the future of the rest of the country is being realized in the present) many MANY schools have organic gardens planted and tended by the kids. coke etc dispensers are no more.

marijuana is about to be legalized.

certain plastics have just been banned as containers for food and drink because of the harmful chemicals therein.

it is true that much is still ass-backwards. but the tide is turning.

but you may remember there was a time when it was attempted to BAN alcohol in this country. what happened? it proved impossible.

and with the political scene in the state it's in now, if you ruled america you would be either shot or discredited within about five minutes.

valus if you ruled the world ....

1. meat eaters would probobly be jailed or fined.

2.mushrooms would take the place of communion bread

3.less stuff would be made and manufactured, resulting in economy meltdown

4. proabition would make a huge comeback.

5. serious munchies could result in loss of vegan-ism resulting in 48 hour lockdown, we can use the old drunk tanks.

whole new set of problems.

ya think obama has a socailist agenda????....it doesn't go over so well with freedom loving americans...

LMFAO!!

Taco bell is open 24 hours now

And I've read about how pot looks golden in comparison to alcohol when you compare how many people have been in accidents/killed as a result. I agree that it should be legal. They should first find a way to control it IMO. We have breathalizer's for alcohol...what would they use for pot?

I believe "they" need some kind of control over substances. Have you ever tried driving while high? Well I have and it was a good thing there wasn't a cop in sight because I must have been going about 10 mph lol.

And our country is wonderful btw. I spent about 3 weeks in Yemen and was scared sh1tless.

Before that, I went to Europe when I was around 17 and I remember going into a music store with a friend. We were talking about all the freedoms we have compared to them (we were in Denmark at the time). We were talking rather loudly, when one of the chaparone's came up to us and told us to stop talking like that because they didn't have freedom of speech like we do and that we could get in trouble for it.

Really opens your eyes when you visit other countries.

We have a long way to go but we have also come a long way. I love my country.

marijuana has its drawbacks too. i agree it is far preferrable to alcohol but the whitewash job sometimes worries me. i am all for it being legal but a little worried that will give the govt power to insist on the same sort of chemical fertilizers they do with tobacco...thereby making it even LESS perfect...

back to if valus ruled the world.

i would probobly be locked up a lot for eating illegal food.. and people would probobly steal my superior vegatables while i was gone. (polk salad, ruhbarb... and asparagus)

polk salad annie..
gators got your granny...

polk salad is a very rich in vitamins veggie, but you have to cook and drain it three times before it tastes good. i can't imagine it would be good raw at all. gritty and bitter, i would think. not bad if cooked properly. grows wild on my property, i thought it was a weed the first year i lived there. if you like greens, it is good.

beg pardon coffee makes SOME people irritable and rash. i am neither and i treasure my morning cuppa. did you know that statistically coffee drinkers are less likely to commit suicide than abstainers? i did however learn many years ago that OVERDOING coffee was not good for my nerves.

overuse of marijuana can cause blood pressure problems of the opposite kind. typical response, the blood pressure drops while the heartrate increases...in the undiscerning careless user this can develop into heart problems.

now if I RULED THE WORLD i would not allow things like high fructose corn syrup, or anything new, to be unleashed on the public without notice AND without decades of testing. same with GMOS and pesticides.

but people down the pages of history have implemented "improvements" in the way things are done only to find later that the improvements carried their own dangers. that goes for people with "miracle" diets and nutritional answers to life's problems. i have done it myself, and been a willing guinea pig many times over. fortunately i listen to my body and instincts and have discontinued harmful products by following my intuition...things like birth control pills, iuds, soy products used to substitute for meat, the list goes on but the point is made...

coffee has it's good points...
I have 3 boys all with ADHD. Their doctor once said to give them a small amount of coffee to help settle them. Not a lot, maybe half a coffee cup if that. And it worked.
I plan on giving up my overly worshiped diet pepsi sometime soon so wish me luck!
