i put these posts in the hostage senate thread but they don't really belong there, so moving em out...

as could have been predicted, the tea party was never expected to make as much noise as they have, or be mistaken for a real Party; a noisy diversion creating flak against the govt to give the republicans a new lease on life, maybe, or to be absorbed into it when not too implacable...

YEP, WRING EM OUT AND TOSS EM!

also this from huffpost, but also many other sources ...

Nevada State Sen. Bill Raggio, who is considered to be one of the most influential Republican lawmakers in the Silver State, endorsed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in his reelection fight against GOP challenger Sharron Angle on Thursday.

Raggio has served in the Nevada state legislature since 1972, and told "Face-to-Face" host Jon Ralston this week that never in that long career had he endorsed a Democrat. But given the caliber of his own party's nominee, he said in a statement Thursday, that time has come.

"What is difficult to overlook is her record of being totally ineffective as a four-term assemblywomen, her inability or unwillingness to work with others, even within her own party, and her extreme positions on issues such as Medicare, social security, education, veterans affairs and many others," Raggio said of Angle.

Raggio, of course, has another reason to dislike Angle, who made a failed attempt to unseat him in 2008. He also challenged his Republican colleagues who have lined up behind Angle's campaign.

"Some supporters tell me we need to support her because we need her vote in the U.S. Senate as a Republican and she 'can't do much harm as a junior back bencher,'" said Raggio. "Since when should this be the criteria on how we select and vote for a U.S. Senator to represent our State?"

He added, "I am a lifelong Republican and unlike Ms. Angle, I have never changed parties. I have always supported Jeffersonian principles of free enterprise, low taxes, limited government and fiscal responsibility. These were the same principles endorsed by every one of our Republican presidents, since the days of Lincoln, and including President Reagan, whom I knew personally."

To put things in perspective, Raggio also made it clear that he was less than thrilled to throw his weight behind Reid's campaign.

"Having said this, I am not pleased or supportive of many of the issues which Senator Reid has supported and I have told him so," he said. "I believe he understands that he must vote more strongly to represent the views of his Nevada constituency in the future rather than a liberal agenda which many feel drifts toward Socialism in America. With that caveat, I will reluctantly vote for Senator Reid's re-election."

The four-term Democrat responded to news of the endorsement in a statement, saying, "I am honored to have the support of Senator Bill Raggio, a man I deeply respect not only for his commitment to public service, but his love for this state..."

While Raggio's endorsement announcement comes with Nevada's midterm election just weeks away, the Republican legislator began to air his feelings on the race just one day after Angle's win in the state's primary campaign.

"I would say there are a lot of Republicans who will find it difficult to support Sharron Angle," he told The New York Times. "Abolishing the Department of Education, phasing out Social Security, those are pretty extreme positions. I think any incumbent is vulnerable, but you have to have somebody that is also acceptable if you're going to win."

At the Las Vegas Sun, Ralston relays a statement put out by Angle's camp on news of Raggio's decision to support Reid.

"It's refreshing to have the light shed on those who are finally willing to expose who they really are in a desperate attempt to help keep the churn turning for liberal big-government beliefs. We know that many good ol' boy career politicians do not believe in Republican principles, but instead are more apt to line themselves closer with the liberal policies promoted by Senator Harry Reid...

But, Raggio is by no means the only Nevada Republican to have come out and express concern over Angle's electability.

Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, who -- like Raggio -- endorsed defeated candidate Sue Lowden in the state's GOP primary race, has criticized Angle as an "ultra right-winger." If she were to win, he said, "Our state will suffer and we would never get anything done."

The latest numbers out on Nevada's Senate race show the highly contentious Reid-Angle matchup to be deadlocked.

O'Donnell is behind by double digits in the polls and sinking. Her astonishing irregularities with campaign finances indicate that she's in this race for the money, and that she's following the Sarah Palin playbook to the letter. Except for the part about quitting your job mid-term, because O'Donnell doesn't have one.

My sense is she wants a job, and she wants it on television, and these interviews are not-too-subtle ways to get a screen audition for that pundit job. Just to be clear: I'm accusing her of that. Why would she otherwise double-cross Sean Hannity? Anyone want to take a bet that she'll be a contributor to FOX by January?

here i must admit that any reference to christine odonnell's admitted flirtation with "wicca" was nothing of the sort. apparently she made out on a "sacrificial" altar....which would define her date as a satanist, not a wiccan (who do not DO sacrifices, but revere all life and harmlessness).

it is enough that she claims to have gone to oxford because she took a course that WAS given on oxford's property...but nothing to do with the university. if she takes this kind of liberty with anything to do with govt ... buyer BEWARE!

yes i think they would all prefer to work for FOX, where truth is not a requirement for job satisfaction, and attention getting is the be all...

Totally agree Kat, thankfully--- or blessed be? many people have commented on the difference.

Christine was a guest on the Bill Maher Politically Incorrect show 22 times, he has all of the tapes. He threatened to show one every week until she came on his (current) HBO show.

She says she "had a first date with a Witch".. and that (...)
was on a Satanic alter, a little blood, we had a midnight picnic..

None of us would cast a stone if it were not for all of the other inconsistencies re: fabrications and lies,

I would imagine that most people have quite the closet of wish i'd never done that files, I sure do. We didn't do it on national TV, I feel for her in that sense, for about a nano second.

bill's 1st Christine clip

The MSM this copy, and to add fresh fuel, she released the "I'm not a witch" campaign add.. it is hilarious.

Get ahead of the curve and start practicing the words....

Senator Christine O'Donnell.

Most Americans would much rather have a good witch as their Senator than a self described...Bearded Marxist..aka Chris Coons.

Hey katatonic,

I hear Daffy Duck has also endorsed Hairy Reid in Nevada...which is a much more impressive endorsement than that of the
RINO Bill Raggio.

But then again the water in Delaware has allot of heavy metals

Really not a hard decision to make between a good witch and a bearded Marxist who would vote in lockstep with the Marxist O'Bomber.

Besides, Hairy Reid has declared that the bearded Marxist Chris Coons is "his pet".

Hairy Reid is about as popular as a skunk at a picnic.

You got nothing katatonic.

One RINO republican out of a whole state fed up with the personal, political and financial corruption of Hairy Reid.

Can you say Senator Angle?

Election 2010: Nevada Senate
Nevada Senate: Angle (R) Edges Ahead of Reid (D)
Thursday, October 07, 2010

Republican challenger Sharron Angle has now moved to a four-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s bare-knuckles U.S. Senate race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Nevada Voters shows Angle hitting the 50% mark for the first time since mid-August, while Reid earns 46% of the vote. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and two percent (2%) more are undecided
