today we celebrate columbus "discovery" of america, even though it had been discovered numerous times before and was already populated by several peoples ..not only did columbus not have immigration papers, but he was the spearhead for many more illegal immigrants who didn't just want a job or a better life for their families, but to DESECRATE the indigenous population, enslave those they did not kill, and otherwise trespass on their territory. and we think the mexican paesans are a menace! lawdy miss clawdy!! Well katatonic, if you really feel that way, you should find your way to a US Consular office in Canada or Mexico, renounce your US citizenship and board transportation back to Europe...where you obviously belong.IP: Logged |

really? you don't think all of us european folk should be deported like the hispanics causing such a big problem along the border states? that's what i love about you jwhop. given a choice between logic and dogma you will pick the latter every time. pray, what makes your forbears any more legal than the maid working in phoenix today? or any more righteous? the fact that they came in a boat, not on foot? the fact that they looked NOTHING like the natives, who in fact resembled our southern friends MUCH more closely than we do? i'm not saying we are illegal, so relax. just pointing out that the definition of "illegal" and "immigrant" change depending on who is here and who is landing... are you going to argue that the natives gave us papers and sovereign rights over them because they just KNEW we were the "rightful" inhabitants of the land THEY lived in? who DID give us the right to call ourselves legal?
