Oh, no!You're going to tattle on me?!?! I'm so scared!! Even though Randall has designated Global Unity as the place for that stuff. JWHOP's been calling people nitwits and braindead morons here for years. But, honestly, Ab, I don't care. I'd probably welcome it, if Randall banned me. No kidding. This place has become a bad habit for me. He's just enabling me by not banning me, lol. I think I'd be even more relieved than you would, if he banned me. Hear that, Randall? Do what thou wilt. My life just gets better.

mental exercise is important, yes! and i also think it is important to step outside my own corner of the world and see what else is out there.i have said many times that i have no expectation of changing jwhop's one-pointed thought process. i don't even know if jwhop believes half the stuff he puts up here. but do you really think any smear campaign should be allowed to progress unchallenged? isn't that what the average german citizen did in the 30s? lolYou realize you started it, right? That taunting post of yours. That's trolling 101, Abs. No doubt about it. No response to my points, which applied to the thread. Just a taunt. Telling me I want attention and calling me stupid. And you think I'm making trouble? You really are a stupid ***** . Oh, and I don't get the reference to pictures on the internet, whatever that means. Was that supposed to get my goat? Go eat some factory farmed meat, then complain about BP hurting animals. You really are a piece of work, lol.

Kat,I don't know. Seems like the media has a much louder voice than they did in the 30's. Still one must do what we can. I save my efforts for my children. Life is never boring at my house I get to hang out with the coolest people in the world and when the day is over, I get to have time with my best friend in the whole world. IP: Logged |

Suit yourself, kat.I really don't have a problem with it. I think you're swell, and I like reading your retorts. I'm just pointing out your hypocrisy. You always tell me I'm accomplishing nothing when I'm doing the same thing you're doing, except with people more likely to hear me. But I don't expect you to see my point here, any more than I expect jwhop to see yours. Even if you saw it, I doubt you'd admit it.

the equivalent of our modern media has been present in most "civilized" societies. in the 30s FDR - and hitler too - used the radio to speak directly to people, but we also had the yellow press, the hearsts of the world, stirring it up with all their millions behind their words and circulation numbers...the FOX of their times.and don't forget that old piece of media misinformation...the world is flat!! even when that was the prevailing belief, those in the know knew better, they just weren't TELLING! Ahhh Mr. Hearst...an Asshat of the highest degree. LOL Pope sez, "I KNOE TEH WURLD IZ NOT FLAT" This is all true. Maybe they just seem more pervasive since it's a 24/7 thing now. Radio used to be only so long during the day, if I'm not mistaken, and TV used to go off after what, midnight? I think that people are turning more onto small and local. There's now a new small local radio station here, and from the sounds of it, it's going on in other places as well. I think it goes along with the slow food movement. We are seeing the results of having large corps do everything for us. IP: Logged |

oh yay! perhaps i shall finally live out my childhood dream of a radio show just the way i like it!you are right, abs, it is so much more pervasive now, and so many people are seduced by things being in print...as online...they don't realize it is often just some crackpot airing their warped views; which is why i try to stay open to the different angles being pushed. reading between the lines has always been a valuable pastime! and it's also true that the powermongers often used LACK of communications to do their deadly deals where no one had a clue, out of the public eye. now they seem to prefer brazen takeovers of what belongs to the "people" which is another way of demoralizing folk. so it makes sense to keep putting out counter-information even though it is draining at times. Leaders of the Republican party recently told reporters what the two most important things that they could do to create jobs and reduce the deficit. They are
- #1 : To make the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% earners permanent. &
- #2 : To make sure President Obama isn't re-elected two years from now.
This is political suicide. Or, if I was in an inflammatory mood, which I am I would say Genocide. Yeah that is a little OTT, but that is how strongly I feel this will go. Voters get what they deserve in many instances, except when the US-SC weighs in on a one-time-only-ballot Now the Pubs have to put up, and guess what? the only part of the population that will benefit is the top 2%. Let all of the Bush era cuts go, none of them are paid for. Obama passed one of the largest tax cuts in American history -- $282 billion over two years -- without Republican support, as part of the 09 stimulus package. The Republicans are not interested in giving the middle class a break, or small businesses, that is what their voting record proves. Politically it's true that every single Republican member of congress can now be accused of "Voting against the biggest tax cut in history" IP: Logged |

yes, exactly as i pointed out to jwhop on the other side, they (like he) are doing their best to bring the country to a standstill just to regain power. i wonder how long people will put up with this situation. though pretty sure something will come along to break the logjam, and soon.bring down the deficit! not if the rich have to help!! lordy that would be heresy. this administration has been in a holding pattern for months now. thanks to the hive mind of the opposition and maybe there is something more to it as well.
