So I go this email about linking youtube videos and going to jail. For all who think this is ridiculous please sign the petition:Ever sent someone a link to a copyrighted YouTube video? Of course: Everybody has. And now the US Government seems to think that means it can put us in prison. Bryan McCarthy ran a website, channelsurfing.net, that linked to various websites where you could watch online streams of TV shows and sports networks. A couple months ago, the government seized his domain name and just today they _arrested him_ for criminal copyright infringement. But the government doesn't even allege he made a copy of anything! Just that his site _linked_ to various sites with copyrighted material. Under that sort of thinking, everyone who's sent around a link to a copyrighted YouTube video is a criminal. Not only must the petition be signed, y'all need citizens lawyer groups to frame charges against those who made such rules, and strive to arrest and press charges against all those including cops who arrested this innocent man. Cops must refuse to obey orders that infringe on First Amendment rights of citizens else they are also guilty.American Human Rights Lawyers must connect to European groups and file human rights criminal charges against such law makers in International Courts. If we do not act fast and smart now, this evil Law will not allow any kind of Police State Action against protesting citizens to be broadcast on youtube. An NWO Media Channel can claim copyright infringement and block torture, firing on civilians etc. IP: Logged |
