An email worth sharing!

Subject: FW: Presidents Day
Date: Mon, 7 Mar 2011 19:49:07 -0600

This one had to be sent out…..

I was playing with my little grandson when his mom asked him, "What is tomorrow ?" She wanted him to show what he had learned in school that day before....

He answered "It's President's Day"

I then asked him, "What does that mean?" .... I was waiting for something profound from this little dude...

He looked at me and very seriously said, "President's Day is when Obama steps out of the White House and if he sees his shadow, we have 2 more years of unemployment."

I almost choked on the cookie I was eating.......

Too bad you don't know what that "unemployment number" really means katatonic.

If you did know, you would know that when an individuals' unemployment compensation benefits run out and they haven't found gainful employment...even part time employment...they are dropped from the statistical rolls of those who are "unemployed". Dropping those persons from the rolls of the "unemployed" skews the "unemployment" number and makes the number go down.

That "unemployment number" doesn't mean what you would like it to mean and what O'Bomber would definitely like it to mean. Namely, that fewer people are "unemployed" and more people are "employed".

The U-6 unemployment number is about 17% of the US workforce.

yes, sweetshop, i see...when the numbers say something you don't like it is a conspiracy. however anything rasmussen says is 100% bona fide...am i right??

but that says volumes that you don't like the unemployment #s going down..it might make the current administration look better than hades, mightn't it?

I don't think the issue is whether or not Jwhop would like lower unemployment under the current administration--it's that the true unmemployment rate isn't being accurately reported.

is it ever? and as far as i am concerned, the issue IS that some people gloat at the misfortunes of others when it puts the other side in a bad light. this attitude is the main thing wrong with this country (if not the world) right now!

i also wonder why so many people ignore the fact that during every "wartime" shortages are felt at home. at the moment it is a shortage of money, comparatively speaking, in people's pockets. during the last war the rationing was "official". the fact that no one is saying "for the war effort" doesn't change the dynamic...except that so much of what we need for the war effort is being made SOMEWHERE ELSE due to multinationals using the cheapest possible labour within their reach (which is global now).

but not to worry our new tea party governors will soon bring the wages down here, and we can all have jobs again...at slave wages! purrrrfect huh?

Let's not forget that BO...Before O'Bomber, the unemployment rate was 7.3% and during most of the Bush years, unemployment was lower than the averages for the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

The continued high US unemployment rate can be directly tied to the idiot Socialists in power in the Congress since 2007 and the idiot Socialist infesting the White House since 2009.

These idiot Socialists are doing exactly what Socialists always do when they get control over an economy. They destroy it in short order...which is exactly what I told you way before O'Bomber ever infested the White House.

God, you just have to love the gall of the Socialist mushrooms.

"except that so much of what we need for the war effort is being made SOMEWHERE ELSE due to multinationals using the cheapest possible labour within their reach"...katatonic

First, they elect other Socialists who pile on excess business taxes, excessive business regulation, excessive rules designed to break the backs of businesses and employ lawsuits to keep businesses out.

Then, businesses leave the state(s) or the country for climes where a reasonable profit can be made on their investments. In the process, they also take the jobs they supplied in their state(s) with them...and the tax base their business taxes fed...and the taxes their former employees paid.

Then, right on cue, the Socialist mushrooms start whining, screeching, screaming and shrieking in unison about...the greedy bast@rds who have run out on America.

Then, when Governors are elected in a backlash against the Socialist idiots who destroyed the states economy and tax base...Governors elected to attract businesses to their states, expand the tax base, put people in their states back to work, then...the very same Socialist mushrooms whine, screech, scream and shriek in unison about the business incentives Governors employ to attract businesses back to their states.

let's also remember that bush inherited a pretty healthy economy and that the unemployment numbers went up while real value incomes went down steadily during his terms. for all but the richest among us that is!

What short memories leftists have!

The economy was in recession when Bush became President.

Then, 9 months later, Bush had to deal with the 9/11 attacks which knocked the props out from under the economy again.

It's too bad the Socialist idiot O'Bomber is an economic dunce. If he had 10% of the intellectual horsepower of W, O'Bomber would lower tax rates across the board, ditch O'BomberCare, stop talking about "Card Check", stop talking about energy "Cap and Tax", stop talking about spending even more tax payer money, remove the impediments to drilling for American oil and gas....and stop creating such uncertainty in the business community that employers won't risk their business capital in expanding their businesses and hiring new employees.

But, O'Bomber and the Socialist crew O'Bomber assembled around himself are economic dunces and we're going to have to wait until the 2012 elections to get rid of them.

In the meantime, as Sarah Palin said...

2012 can’t come soon enough.

do you think there will still be elections in 2012, the way the new governors are going? why bother with giving people a vote when you can just run everything like a corporation?? not that it isn't already.

oh, hang on, that must be what you are so looking forward to! the top 1% having it ALL sewn up! carry on tommy! let's just dispense with the theatre of elections and see what happens then..

Gee, I don't know. Why don't you ask O'Bomber? O'Bomber's the one with a history of bypassing Congress and O'Bomber's the one who doesn't give a flip what voters think.

more charming even than putting kids to work when adults are unemployed, even if this man is recalled he is getting his pension protected while downgrading those of the working public...

LOL

I live here, Kat. It's shameful! Sadly this election consisted of 3 candidates, two of which took the majority vote and split it up, thus leaving us with LePage. Unfortunately, neither ran the best campaigns, there was much mudslinging and dirty play, but we are left with a seriously crack pot legislature atm. TRUST ME, I have to deal with these people and the "new regime" is sub par.
