The village coffers are empty. A rather unknown decided to run for supervisor of the town council on the platform free internet and garbage pick up. He won by 2 votes over the boring yet effective incumbent.
Now the council in in turmoil and it truely isn`t because the freebie platform fell through but because the supervisor punched a village employee in the nose for daring to ask for more road salt next year when the coffers are bare.

True story. Now how stupid is stupid... or dare I say greedy

does anyone else wonder why trump, who says "of course i buy from china, i have to", thinks that imposing tariffs is the only way businesses like his can be made to see their folly? he obviously KNOWS he is hurting OUR economy by going to china...yet he does it anyway. apparently the business mogul is so addicted to squeezing EVERY LAST PENNY of profit out of his company that he can't forgo the cheapest overhead unless he is fined for it. even as he admits it produces an inferior end product...

in other words it would never occur to a "real" businessperson that sacrificing a few of his top dollars would strengthen the economy of his own country ... but if he has to pay penalties he will do it!

sounds like asking for MORE government intervention and excusing the moneymakers from any need for conscience or even common sense to me!

i for one would like to see THEM back, and that is why i dislike the bottom -line feeding corporatists of today (or any day).

and before you say the unions starved them out, jwhop, let me remind you that henry ford saw his workers as consumers as well as assets, and his HQ parking lot was full of FORDS as a result...paid for by his employees and travelling advertisements without hiring madison avenue! simple beauty as an idea...
