Ok we've known each other for awhile now, and we've had our ins and outs.

I feel like we're in a good place now, and I wanted to ask you some questions.

Now before I start, I want to say, that these are typed in honestly wanting to know, and not trying to start any crap.

I am curious as to why you seem to think that the more liberal and/or "leftist" parts of the population, are out to destroy America? Why do you come from a place of thinking that they don't want what is best for America too?

Honestly. I think that everyone, no matter whom they are, really does love our country, and want what is best for it.

If you consider that we are all a product of our environment, and that everyone's experiences are different.

It only would seem that the different environments would produce different thoughts about what is good for America. It doesn't mean that it's wrong, just different.

I mean unless someone comes RIGHT OUT and says that they want to see America ground into tiny bits, doesn't it seem like a silly thing to automatically assume that they're out to destroy America?

I really am interested in your thoughts, and this all comes from a place of wanting to understand you better. Please let's have a honest discussion about this, and I'll make cookies when we're done.

Amanda

AD, you're wasting your time.

Look at his chart sometime. Leo with a Scorpio Asc. He thinks he's got the divine right to clobberate anyone ten times harder than they slapped him with an uncomfortable fact to help him along. Mercury in Virgo -- this guy can memorize and regurgitate scads and scads of facts -- the debate equivalent of having an uzi against an opponent with a 6-shot revolver. And Mars in Aries? If he looked up the definition of "peaceful" in the dictionary, his eyes'd refuse to focus enough to read the words. :P

No Rogue, it is never a waste of time to get to know someone better, or to learn to understand them better.

That sounds nice, AD, but -- personally, for myself -- I have found that there is an exception to every rule, and a practical limit to most philosophical maxims. With so much fixity in his chart, I think it's safe to just write him off as a lost cause. So, we just need to condition the animal not to bite the humans.

But, good luck with it. I will be most impressed, and quite surprised, if you can get a hate-and-insult-free discussion out of him -- especially on this subject.

Now I'm going to stop hijacking your string, okay?

rogue you have heard of progressions, have you not? a scorp rising by the age of sixty something is becoming an aqua rising...still fixed, yes, but a completely different fish. so it is with us all...and leo becomes sagittarius after a certain number of years.

i too have much fixed-ness in my angles, and a leo sun which has progressed to libra, and a pisces moon which is now in taurus...i dont know your chart or your age, perhaps you have not felt the passing of time and the changing of the signs yet?

Am I seeing the beginnings of wisdom here Paras?

There are NO uncomfortable "facts". Facts simply are.

So far as the slaps are concerned, I have a rule. You don't and I won't but, if you do, then buckle up.

However, if one is a Socialist of any of it's constituent parts, Marxist, Maoist, Leninist or any other form of Collectivist, then, they're probably going to get splattered. If only by implication.

AD, let's not mix up leftists..Socialists..Progressives, Marxists, Maoists, Leninists and other Collectivists with Liberals.

Liberals are not Leftists nor are Leftists Liberals.

This is Liberal thinking..."I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".

Leftists would choke to death on those words and in fact, a great deal of leftists time is spent trying to shut those up who disagree with them.

You might be surprised to learn that I and most true Conservatives fit easily into the definition of Classical Liberals.

If you don't believe the US is..and has been under leftist attack for many years; look around you at the exploding insanity of Socialist programs.

Cities, Counties, States and the federal government are bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy.

If you believe this is just a matter of "bad luck", misguided policy or accident; read all about Cloward and Piven, read about Saul Alinsky and you will discover the plan to bankrupt America by overloading every social program until those social programs collapse and there is revolution in the streets of America.

Save your for someone who doesn't see straight through your phoniness.

While you noticed that Scorpio Asc; it's clear you're clueless as to what that means.

hahaha
I doubt there's anyone on LindaLand who has more clearly and plainly laid out their motives for the content and tone of their posts than I.

"We all have to step beyond our planetary influences sometimes."

Then why don't you do so and stop putting up your phony blue hearts. We both know that's not your true sentiment.

We both know this is what you'd really like to put up . So, why don't you dispense with the effort to con people?

Alright. So what I'm hearing from you is that there are fringe left political varietals who really DO want something "completely different," than is laid out in the constitution.

I'm vaguely familiar with Alinsky. However, not the other two names you've typed out here. SO I'm gonna have to read more up on this before I can chat with you.

I'm putting out a plate of cookies now, and when I'm more well read I'm coming back to chat some more.

Technically they are red velvet ice cream cookies

Much like "Arglebargle". (from "Tommyknockers")

jwhop: Pick one - serious and factual, or 3rd-grade playground. When you make up your mind which game you want to play, I'll come back to the table.

Sheesh, old man, you're about as stable as a nitroglycerin-powered vibrator in the hands of Charlie Sheen.

"Alright. So what I'm hearing from you is that there are fringe left political varietals who really DO want something "completely different," than is laid out in the constitution."

Those you call fringe left political varietals ARE the current demoscat party congressional members and their leftist group sycophants.

Perhaps you recall this, or perhaps you never saw it before.

“Eli Pariser, Justin Ruben and the Move On team...
Now it's our Party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back.”

One of the last Liberals, if not THE last Liberal in the US Senate, Joe Leiberman has announced he's serving his last term in office and is retiring.

"jwhop: Pick one - serious and factual, or 3rd-grade playground"

You must be kidding; couldn't be serious.

Someone who pushes anarchy, then quotes Abraham Lincoln with favor...wants to have a serious factual discussion?

Someone who takes his moral and life philosophy from a science fiction novel..wants to have a serious factual discussion?

By the way, no one is ever going to confuse you with the Dune Messiah, Muad'Dib.

I still haven't read up on the other names, though I want to say thanks for eating the cookies...

I'm kinda brain scrampled at the moment, because rampant politics infiltrates the perfume world too, and I am dealing with that.

I'm not sure how this is going to come out, with me feeling so brain fried, so I think I better come back again later.

Stay tuned, I DO actually have some thoughts to share with you.

Plus you've read DUNE!!!
