So, the latest UN outrage can be summed up thusly.

Open up with automatic weapons fire on your own citizens, kill them; grab a seat on the UN Human Rights Council.

This is the very same UN Human Rights Council to which Bush refused to seek a seat for a US representative to the "Council".

But, not to worry all those who value human rights. O'Bomber gushed and rushed to the rescue only a few months after being sworn in as Prez.

Congratulations O'Bomber...and human rights worry worts. The US is an elected member of the UN Human Rights Council since mid 2009.

Soon to join the UN Human Rights Council is Syria. That's right, Syria with the machine gun happy Bashar Assad as Prez.

Syria should feel right at home on the "Council" with the stalwart protectors of human rights, Cuba, Pakistan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Right, check!

The brutal crackdown by Syrian President Bashar Assad may finally be getting the attention of world leaders -- but apparently not enough to stop Syria from becoming the newest member of the U.N. Human Rights Council.

And despite calling for an independent investigation into the crackdown, which has left hundreds dead, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon apparently won’t do much about blocking Syria’s path to the human rights group............
