Surely...for those of you who want to rummage through Palin's emails...you couldn't possibly object to others demanding O'Bomber turn over...at the very least..his Illinois state senate office records. Now could you??

same goes for obama's school records, though he was NOT IN OFFICE when he was in school as SHE WAS when those emails were written. THAT is the difference.

as to his senate office records, that would be reasonable. but i haven't been sniffing around in either of their underwear drawers like some people seem to love doing.

no one is trying to pretend that she is a "ghost" or "made up" character are they? where is the outcry for HER birth certificate as if she were some sort of smuggler?

about as many emails are remaining unwrapped as are being publicized. these are supposedly to do with OFFICIAL BUSINESS IN THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, not what she did in school. or where she was when she was 6 years old!

So far all the drooling O'Bomber supporting, Palin haters of the press have discovered in Palin's emails...is that she was a serious, even handed, hardworking Governor focused on providing better state government for Alaskan citizens, reducing state debt and insuring that Alaska and Alaskans received the money from oil companies they deserved as owners of the land from which the oil was extracted.

The most spectacular embarrassment in recent media history left the New York Times, the Washington Post, their far-left “partner” organizations, and their army of citizen muck-rakers sitting in a pile of crumpled Sarah Palin emails, with absolutely nothing news-worthy to show for their efforts.

They could do no better than saying her correspondence shows she had some interest in the vice-presidential spot before McCain selected her, and she doesn’t much care for the “lamestream media.” Gee, I wonder why?

The UK Guardian summed up its findings as follows: “Tens of thousands of pages of Sarah Palin's emails released on Friday offer an intimate portrait of a politician caught in an almost daily battle on issues ranging from oil exploration to an ethics investigation.” Does anyone think the media dove into the Governor’s correspondence looking to prepare an “intimate portrait” of her “daily battles?”

In case you were wondering how dejected leftists are handling this total bust, the new meme among the nutroots is that all the “good stuff” was magically scrubbed out of the emails before release, possibly by the same right-wing hackers who took over Anthony Weiner’s Twitter account. One good thing to come out of this little drama will be a chance for a few more liberals to take a long, hard look at the babbling lunacy of their leaders and re-think their lives. I have enough faith in human nature to think every burst of derangement from the likes of Kos or Media Matters peels off a few more of their less mindless followers.

Not only is the lack of any scandal in the Palin emails remarkable, but it’s almost astonishing how perfectly her private correspondence matches up with her public pronouncements. She even uses a lot of the same colorful language, like “unflippingbelievable.”

Liberals were able to choke on this slab of vanilla email because the same media that absolutely zero interest in asking the most cursory questions about Barack Obama’s shady past in 2008 were able to take advantage of Alaska’s very generous open-records laws, in their haste to put the Republican vice-presidential nominee – the only person who could have saved the faltering McCain campaign – under an electron microscope. Never mind Obama’s ties to domestic terrorists, the abject failure of his “community organizing” efforts, or the payola pumped into Michelle Obama’s lucrative do-nothing jobs. Sarah Palin used a Yahoo email account for state correspondence! RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

Well, now that we’ve established the Palin Test, let’s apply it to every candidate, including the incumbent President. Release a couple of years’ worth of email, and let’s see what we find. Do you think it would take an army of volunteer readers very long to find something hypocritical, or even horrifying, in Obama’s correspondence?

"Emails from Sarah Palin’s time as Alaska governor “show a double-fisted Blackberry user fully comfortable with handling nearly every aspect of state government,” wrote the McClatchy Newspapers."

"The emails paint “a picture of her as an idealistic, conscientious, humorous and humane woman slightly bemused by the world of politics,” said Toby Harnden of the London Telegraph."

“She comes across as practical and not doctrinaire,” wrote Molly Ball in Politico. “She was hands-on and adverse to partisan politics.”

This was not what some journalists expected to write. “If critics were hoping to see Palin revealed as a hypocrite, they’re out of luck,” said Ms. Ball. “Her private statements are in line with her public ones.”
He then points out those who, for lack of anything damaging in which to relish, chose to be petty and critical, and he exposes the foolishness of their behavior:

Many strained to say something critical. “She may have attended four universities, but Sarah Palin still writes like an 8th-grader,” wrote Christine Roberts in the New York Daily News.

Her emails were given to two writing experts to analyze. “Both agree that the tea party favorite writes as if she is in middle school,” Ms. Roberts said.

You couldn’t tell from Ms. Roberts’ lede that both experts concluded Ms. Palin writes better than do most corporate executives.

John Katzman, CEO of 2tor, is a Democrat who said he “would have loved to support my hunch that Ms. Palin is illiterate.” But she scored better on the Flesch-Kincaid readability test than his emails do, Mr. Katzman acknowledged.

“She’s very concise. She gives clear orders. Her sentences and punctuations are logical,” said Paul Payack, president of Global Language Monitor. “She has much more of a disciplined mind than she is given credit for.”

In the end, Jack Kelly distilled his own study of Governor Palin’s emails down to this:

"The Sarah Palin who emerges from the email dump isn’t the partisan snowbilly of media caricature. She’s a tough-minded reformer who took on Big Oil and corrupt members of her own party and beat them."

Nonstop criticism has hurt Sarah Palin in the polls. It would be difficult to overcome the false picture painted of her. But the emails, and a forthcoming documentary, are steps in that direction. Furthermore, their now naked — and increasingly comical — partisanship has hurt the credibility of her adversaries in journalism.

Back when the reputation of the “mainstream” media was better and its monopoly near total, another conservative derided as stupid and extreme prevailed when he emerged on center stage and dispelled the media caricature of him. Republicans already think Sarah Palin is more like Ronald Reagan than is any other presidential aspirant. If she chooses to run, she may resemble the Gipper in yet another way.
