your point of view is interesting, jwhop, but that is ALL it is ... YOUR point of view. the fact that you cling to it like a lifejacket is also very interesting.

ami said something i agree with the other day! "opinions are like noses. we all have them and they all have holes in them." while i wouldn't put it that way it's a great image.

apparently you consider yourself above and beyond that statement, but i see the holes in your opinions while admitting mine have some too. apparently ami equates stubborness and refusal to allow others' points of view with "integrity"; to me it is just mulishness.

i consider integrity to be more about being willing to admit that NO ONE IS PERFECT OR ALL BAD, and THOSE WHO ADMIT AND IMPROVE ON THEIR FAILINGS are practicing integrity.

so i am going to admit that i have failed to communicate with you at all. you still don't have a clue that my main reason for being here is to point out that very fact...ALL opinions have holes in them and THEY ARE ONLY OPINIONS.

but if obama is a "boozer" because he admits to having drunk alcohol while a student...and apparently still enjoys a beer in company...

then you, too, with your celebration of martinis, are a "boozer". unless, of course, you have had to give it up, and all the virtual martinis are just wistful thinking, you are throwing stones from a glass house. at least obama corrected himself, you see no need to!

the only difference between your drug and others is they haven't repealed the prohibition on the others yet.

Bye Bye Daily Mirror/Piers Morgan! Say, isn't Piers Morgan the current flopping failure on CNN?

Oh how dreadful this is. Now we'll have to measure the owner of the Daily Mirror for a striped prison suit too. Perhaps he and Murdock can share a prison cell..along with Piers Morgan!

Piers Morgan gave me phone hack lesson, Jeremy Paxman tells Leveson Inquiry
John Fahey Wednesday 23 May 2012

Former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan once told Jeremy Paxman how to access voicemail messages, the Leveson Inquiry heard today.

Newsnight anchorman Mr Paxman said he attended a lunch at Mirror headquarters in Canary Wharf in September 2002 where Mr Morgan teased Ulrika Jonsson about her relationship with former England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, saying he knew about a conversation they had.

Mr Paxman said Mr Morgan explained to him how to access people's phone messages after teasing the Swedish television presenter about the conversation.

Mr Paxman told the inquiry: "He turned to me and said 'Have you got a mobile phone?'

"I said yes and he asked if there was a security setting on the message bit of it. I didn't know what he was talking about.

"He then explained the way to get access to people's messages was to go to the factory default setting and press either 0000 or 1234 and that if you didn't put on your own code, his words, 'You're a fool'."

The BBC Newsnight presenter said he remembered the lunch for two reasons: he wondered why he had been invited and because of what Morgan said.

"Mr Morgan was teasing Ulrika that he knew what had happened in a conversation between her and Sven-Goran Eriksson," said Paxman.

"I don't know if he was repeating a conversation he had heard or he was imagining this conversation.

"To be fair to him I should imagine both possibly because he probably was imagining it."

Paxman said Morgan put on a funny Swedish voice.

"It was a rather bad parody."

He added: "I don't know if he was making this up, making up the conversation.

"But it was clearly something he was familiar with and I wasn't.

"I didn't know that this went on."

The veteran presenter said Morgan's treatment of Jonsson was close to bullying.

"I didn't like it," he said.

and if it were your phone that was hacked, jwhop, you would be saying "oh silly me, i didn't know i had to set a new code on my phone.." right? you would be glad to have your privacy breached by someone you worked for, right?

and if your daughter was missing presumed dead and you were waiting for a message one way or the other from the investigating police, and it never came...you wouldn't care that a NEWSMAN knew, and deleted the message when it DID COME.

or if your marriage were ruined because someone reported in the newspaper something they'd heard on your phone line, blew it out of all proportion and made out you were doing something you shouldn't, that wouldn't bother you either.

and when you asked for an investigation into how such info was received, the police put it on a shelf with thousands of others because the newspaper was paying them to ignore it, that wouldn't matter either.

and if the man who was getting rich printing the stories resulting from these abuses said "i'm sorry i didn't know even though the news stories made all this pretty public knowledge, even though innocent people went to jail and guilty ones scot free" you'd pat him on the back for "making it" in the free world, yepyepyep!

i never even hinted that murdoch is the only one in this game. he is a big poster boy for it.

may piers morgan be investigated too and if guilty be barred from his profession of "newsmen" if he is still working.
