Thanks node, tubie challenged still but I`ve seen it on t.v. and she`s huge and fierce.

First the quake to jar, now the winds and water to cleanse

MI gets some nasty winds and rain backlash but they only lasts a day or two.

Stay safe & snug ` til we can sing goodnight Irene, goodnight!

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

Sometimes I live in the country
Sometimes I live in town
Sometimes I have a great notion
To jump into the river and drown

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

Quit ramblin' and quit gamblin'
Quit stayin' out late at night
Stay home with your wife and family
Sit down by the fireside bright

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

I asked your mother for you
She told me you was too young
I wished to God I'd never seen your face
I's sorry you ever was born

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

I love Irene, God knows I do
I'll love her till the seas run dry
And if Irene turns her back on me
I'd take morphine and die

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

You cause me to weep, you cause me to mourn
You cause me to leave my home
But the very last words I heard her say
Was "Please sing me one more song"

Irene goodnight, Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene
I'll see you in my dreams

Peeps around here are shopping in the food stores like 6 ft of snow are gonna drop. I hope everyone stays safe, but they are still hilarious.

All anyone needs is a roll of duct tape.

remember when they told us after 911-- in the event of chem warfare to seal our windows with plastic and duct tape?

that is what they told the japanese near fukushima too. in a hurricane, you need candles, a few extra supplies, a camping stove is always great too! and to be willing to wait it out.

this one is now a category 1 storm. much ado about not much ado i'm afraid.

people who do dumb things like walking outside in it may get hit on the head with falling branches, as someone did, so there may be fatalities all the same! but most people prefer hunkering down!

hunkering is my specialty!

It does seem to be playing out as a tropical storm. For the east coaster`s that`s a break .

It ain`t over til the fat lady sings tho... oh wait, Node beat her to it !

i remember LOTS of powerless evenings. fun provided by nature, though i'm sure my mother had less fun than we did...

here where i live the power goes out regularly too. in fact what most east coasters call a hurricane happens in cali frequently in winter. you know what they say, it never rains in california, but it pours...and blows too.

the first weekend i was in norcal the wind and rain blew for 2 days. afterwards the backyard was knee deep in water, i have pics.

if you are lucky enough to live in public housing, which i don't, when it goes out the power tends to STAY out for days after everyone else has theirs...another example of how coddled the "underclass" are. not.

RE: pacific Northwest, my astro-map tells me that I should retire there .... it is on an MC- and Mercury line and beneficial. I would love to live in Monterey/Carmel/ Big Sur area

been to most of the 50 states and I had a real connection with that area.

Unless I win a lottery I would never be able to afford it though.

Vancouver is on the bucket list.

FYI has everyone noticed that astro.com has personal sound horoscopes?? check it out in the drop down menu, really cool.

retire? dunno. move to an idyllic setting from which to work? definite possibility.

astro.com recommend idaho and sedona for MY retirement, or relaxation at least. places that redress stress...don't think i could do the dryness though! but both places are "safe" even in the worst-scenario "future" maps (ie after the deluge projections)...

re irene i have been listening and watching the media having their normal hyperbolic party..without disrespecting any of the actual damage, i find myself wishing for an end to the "disaster flick" mentality of the press. everything is the "worst ever" whether it is politics, war or weather.

did they ALL train under hitler?
