planned parenthood, now the girl scouts, those uppity women are coming in for their just desserts AT LAST!!
http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/21/10465924-merit-badges-cookies-and-the-destruction-of-traditional-american-family-values

of course the catholics (among several religions actually) have their own methods of birth control...choose a young (unripe) or male object for your affections and presto! pregnancy no longer a problem!

but should WOMEN demand the right to decide what goes into their bodies without the church's interference, maybe a good dunking or fiery stake will show them the RIGHT way to live!

talk about back to the 19th century!

Another phony issue by leftist dingbats.

The Catholic church...and other churches are not saying women cannot..or should not be able to get birth control pills or whatever.

What they are saying is that birth control is against the tenets of their religions and that they're not going to pay for an insurance policy which includes birth control substances or abortions...in the form of a pill or otherwise.

I find it exceedingly odd that our so called "constitutional scholar/community organizer has never read the second part of the religious establishment clause...the very first words in the very first constitutional amendment. Let me reproduce them here. Even a reasonably bright 5th grader would readily understand the concept.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion;NOR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF.

So here's O'Bomber and his equally constitutionally ignorant sycophants telling Catholics and other religious entities they must obey legislative acts...O'BomberCare and violate the long held tenets of their religions.

Now, to hear O'Bomber and leftist dingbats tell the story, the only place on earth women can get contraception services or morning after abortion pills is through an insurance policy bought and paid for by the Catholic church under O'BomberCare.

This doesn't come close to passing the giggle test.

Indeed.

Having lost the gay fight,
the Planned Parenthood fight
~ with the election of a black man,
what to do, what to do?
Oh! women!
Probed, loss of rights, promoting an agenda to deny access to contraceptives. Maybe our 'hysteria' treatments should be reinstated.

I wonder what group is next for the hate machine. I also wonder why the constant predatory sex scandals in dioceses are never a focus, humm.

In the reply section on your link I liked this->

quote:
There's no money for social programs like mental health institutions in those red states, now they just put them into government office for safe keeping apparently.

did you read the OP or title, jwhop? this is not a leftist issue, but "rightists" trying to blacklist the girl scouts now.

but the conservatives think it's okay to malign the girlscouts because they think it is a hotbed of abortion and lesbianism, no murmur from you.

it's okay for the church to tell non-catholics what kind of medical care they can or can't have, but NEVER the other way around, hmm?

You're the one who brought up the issue of the Catholic church on this thread katatonic; not me. I simply responded to your bullshiiit.

"of course the catholics (among several religions actually) have their own methods of birth control...choose a young (unripe) or male object for your affections and presto! pregnancy no longer a problem!

but should WOMEN demand the right to decide what goes into their bodies without the church's interference, maybe a good dunking or fiery stake will show them the RIGHT way to live!"...katatonic

You are making such a moronic argument that I must conclude you are not posting in good faith.

The Catholic church is NOT saying women cannot have birth control, morning after pills or actual abortions.

The Catholic church is saying the tenets of their religion forbid the church from associating their church with any part of any of that or for paying for access to those services.

Further, the Catholic Church has the full weight of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution on their side and all you have on your side is a constant stream of hot air.

yes i did, sorry. but "contraception" is not the only reason for "birth control" medicine. birth control is ONE outcome when used specifically for that purpose. prevention of ovarian cancer is another. making life bearable is another for many women who struggle with hormonal issues before taking "birth control" only to find things working much better during and after taking it. another is treatment of endemetriosis which, unchecked, can rob one of fertility...and so the list goes on.

however i have no problem with the reworked guidelines, more palatable to all but those conservatives who have been robbed of the economic axe for their campaign...

you've heard that christian maxim "give to caesar what is caesar's and to god what is god's" (i paraphrase from memory)..? how a catholic treats himself is one thing, how he treats others is part of the "general welfare".

we expect muslims to obey our laws and customs, do we not? or are you in favour of the practice of shari'a law amongst muslims and those who work for them?

however the flap about the girl scouts is not from "leftist" but "rightist" eejots, who also moan and groan about ridiculous things. somehow i think the girlscouts do a lot less harm than the church-sanctified pedophiles!

Yeah, I notice that when arguments go against leftist positions, they try to change the subject or deflect away from the main issue to something on the fringe of the issue. Contraception is used for one thing in almost 100% of cases. To prevent pregnency.

Abortions are performed...not for the health of the mother but in more than 90% of cases...for the "convenience" of the mother. When leftists are nailed with the facts, they immediately jump to the fringe issue of rape and incest...just as you attempted to do with the contraception issue.

No Catholic...or any member of any other religion should ever be forced by government to commit actions which violate the tenets of their religion. In fact, the very words in the 2nd part of the establishment clause are testament to the fact government has no power whatsoever to force anyone to violate the articles of faith of their religion.

I've spelled it out for you once katatonic.

Since you didn't get it the first time around, I'll repeat it in hopes it will sink in this time.

"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION....OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF".

Anyone wanting to know what JW really looks like need only look obfuscate up in the dictionary, there is a pic.

Oh dearest JW, let me spell it out for you~ since every thread turns into deflection mirror games.

The thread is about attacks on women by members of the hate machine. The thread is about loss of personal freedoms, demonizing a group comprised of girls.

Girl Scouts are young women to be. What better place to start?

You don't have to major in psychology to know that hate is the flip side to fear.
