Source: Bureau of Labor StatisticsBusiness This Graph Says an Awful Lot About the So-Called ‘Recovery’ Posted on July 9, 2012 Lately, we’ve heard a lot about “the recovery” and lot of arguing over who’s to blame for its supposed slowdown. But before we got too bogged down in who’s responsible for retarding economic growth, maybe we should first look at the data. Without one word of explanation, Harvard University econ professor Greg Mankiw posted the following graph to his blog: Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics As you can see, the shaded area indicates the recession and everything to the right of that is the so-called “recovery.” Huh. So, was this what the White House meant when it said we’re moving in the right direction or should we just not read too much into the data? http://www.theblaze.com/stories/this-graph-says-an-awful-lot-about-the-so-called-recovery/ IP: Logged |

Attention AG Here are some statistics I trust. The reason is that I trust the mental clarity of the person putting them up. I trust the discernment of that person.I cannot ooh and aah over statistics when the bearer seems confused about what is happening right under his nose. You seem that way to me, AG.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Attention Ami,Those statistics come straight from the government, a source you just said yesterday that you didn't trust. As for your statement about mental clarity, that's been disproven over and over again over several years here. Your own mental clarity is questionable at best considering your inability to talk politics. IP: Logged |

Jwhop,I don't understand the big smile. Is that smile to show your approval of the state of the economy? I didn't think so. Happy to get another opportunity to try to frame the President poorly? I thought so. I believe the White House is saying that we're moving in the right direction, because the opposite direction would be LOSING jobs, and the economy not growing at all or worse. no one notices what the graph shows? that a recovery was under way until the glorious "sweep" the republicans still crow about in 2010, when it faltered and staggered?or that the worst tumble was during and directly after bush's tenure? or that the title of the graph is "civilian employment/population ratio"? what does that mean? that there were only ever 63% civilians in the workforce? as in non-armed forces??
