to a point anyway, and possibly in reaction to what i observed the other day, the republican party is getting ready to throw rush himself under the proverbial bus...but he described pretty accurately this morning how - now they have the nomination sorted - the romney campaign and rnc are busy manipulating the rules to get rid of the conservative image they nurtured during the run up. norquist was right, romney will do as told. he was also wrong, because the rnc will do their damndest to prevent the conservative congress norquist visions. romney will do as the gop tells him. for awhile that was cultivating a conservative image... but like the ron paul delegates, dissed AT the convention, the party is working to stack the delegate process in a way that will shut out ALL the grass roots folk. MORE third party votes. IP: Logged |

Ron Paul made it on to the ballots tho, right? He made his majority of delegates in at least 5 states. Could it ever be probable all those who don`t favor Romney or Obama to take a stand and vote for Paul? It would be a gutsy move because of the fear of throwing the vote away... I`d so love to see a huge media push in that direction.
Throw Rush under the bus? Not yet as he has the ear of too many to throw out yet. Like anyone, give them enough rope and they hang them selves.

haven't read the link yet. but the convention mentioned rush several times, and always in a cautionary way against taking his slant too much to heart. they are trying to distance the party from his conservative extreme...and he is fighting back as of this morning, which may actually be a repeat show from earlier in the week, but i'm not sure.romney is using a significant portion of bush's team for his own. this will put off a lot of people too. yes there is a great deal of disappointment and criticism in obama, but i am not sure it is as great as the pundits like to think. that is part theatre and part business. what i heard today from rush is criticism of the RNC as running the party "as a business"...isn't that what they've been pushing these last months? running the party AND THE COUNTRY as a business? my objection to that is the KIND of businessman they are using as a front. the kind who makes money from money and for the sake of money and nothing else. i don't care how rich romney is, but i don't like how he operates. most rich people get that way providing a service and understand the need for the CUSTOMER to have money in his pocket. romney doesn't care, his customers are other gamblers for profit, who needs consumers? (haveread the link now!)i don't think paul is going to run as an independent(though of course it is still possible?), but i heard one of his delegate spokesmen indicating they were so angry at the way he and they were treated by the convention and romneyites that they WILL be voting for the libertarian anderson...if ron paul decides to switch to independent he might just swing it, butlet's face it, ron is 76 years old. this is one of the most stressful positions in the world. how long will he physically be up to it? i think as i've said elsewhere that the third party vote will decide who wins, but i still think it will be romney or obama. your posted article mentions the encouragement from the establishment for romney to "bully" his way to "win by any means" but i think it has already been demonstrated that romney's character leans this way anyway. i still think our most important vote is for our congressmen and senators, and local candidates.
