Yes, and I agree that the local races/props
are incredibly important this election.

Americans for Real Prosperity
in the "United States of Amnesia" there are not really two parties but one war party, one corporate party. There are still a handful of peeps fighting the good fight tho, if you look for them.

Britain is now in double dip recession due to austerity measures. Baby steps are in the works for stimulus measures. We might just learn from their mistakes?

Yes! Since the non-Republicans split the vote in our state for Governorship last year and we got a complete dunce in THAT office, Olympia Snowe called it quits and her senate seat is up for grabs in Maine.

I'm hoping for Angus King, myself. Independent governor in the state between 1995-2003 and very reputable and progressive.

i am looking around. cali is very democrat, but many of our dems are lifers and somewhat suspect. lynn wolsey is retiring for this one, so my local congressperson is going to be somebody new, and the districts have been all mashed up this year, may be someone from marijane country who ends up in the house.

i live in a pretty urbane area that has been matched up with the wild rural north where up to half the economy depends on the medical marijuana industry, the rest on food farming and organics. it's a weird mixture to represent. and of course obama is going to hear from whoever does get there about renegging on the promise to leave states' rights alone re marijuana...
