I'm part of a group of mothers who meets to do nursery school stuff with our young children. Most of the women are "Christian conservatives," ie Republicans who are strongly pro-war. In spite of that, these are my friends. I like them for so many reasons.A new woman joined our group via email. First time we met her, I was a little shocked by her strong personality. She was very opinionated but talked about Jesus, like, every other word. I'm pretty accepting even with that, and I thought we got along well, but when she was raving about the Republican Convention and how it was glorifying God, I must've looked sad. She said, alarmed: "Oh...you're not a conservative?" I replied that I sort of am, but I am anti-war and not much of a Republican. 'Didn't think that was a biggie. Well...this woman left our group after that one meeting and started her own group. She didn't invite anyone from our group to participate, and word has gotten back to me that apparently, she thinks our group isn't "Christian conservative" enough if it will let people like me in. Now there is this big uproar in my social circle over this, a matter that should be NOTHING. An issue of no consequence. I mean, HOW STUPID! Very VERY sick of political labeling and how it leads to nasty prejudices and misunderstandings like that. But I don't think that is an isolated incident, I think "liberals" are rejected all the time by "conservatives," and vice versa. Seems totally juvenile and pointless to me. I just WISH people could get over it. For the record. IP: Logged |

True Liberals must carry the burden of tolerating even the most prejudiced of conservatives. One positive here is that you will know who your true friends are. IP: Logged |

The Bible says that Jerusalem will be a stumbling stone for all, in the last days. That is what is happening here. People are making their choices, as the the Bible says will happen. I love the people like IQ, but my principles to God( and service for God) must come first.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/
