Excerpts:
" “I cannot thank the president enough for his personal concern and compassion,” Christie said in comments that seemed above and beyond the call of duty"

"In a Washington Post/ABC tracking poll out Wednesday, 78 percent of those surveyed rated Obama’s response to the hurricane as excellent or good."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/11/01/romney-stranded-as-christie-obama-team-up-after-hurricane-sandy.html

Will this spontaneous act of putting Nation above campaigning tilt the balance in favor of Obama?

I would advise Obama to donate 50% of the remaining campaigning funds for assisting the victims of Sandy. This would be the greatest of gestures, and befitting what Obama claimed to be in 2008, a genuine human being disconnected from the Republican Military-Industrial-Petrochemical nexus.

If such occurred, the fence sitters would be swayed toward the humanitarian gesture and 4 more years.

Most likely it would be the undecideds and the gesture wouldn`t move the committed.

I vote he donates it to the Red Cross(sorry tho , I`m a committed )!!!

Since we`re "what iffing" Romney can dondate %50 of his remaining campaign funds then match that figure out of his own pocket.

Bipartisan cooperation at it`s best.

Trying to keep a bias opinion out of it...

Its not what Chris Christie says, IMO.
Yes, it might make a short lived impact.

If anything, it will be what the victims of Sandy are going to say in the coming days..

I don't know why it's such a shock if someone from one party compliments a member of another party.

I also don't know why President Obama doing his actual JOB would be so miraculous that it would give him a bump in the polls.

Obama to a tearful Donna Vanzant, in a compassionate moment when politics is not in his mind:
"Everyone is safe, right? That is the most important thing".

IMHO, the essential difference in perspective between Obama and Romney is:
For Obama, the life/health/education of every ordinary American is more important.
He is a humane leader of a human Nation.

For Romney, the profits of every American businessman [small or big) are more important. He wants to be a successful CEO of a Trans-National Corporate Empire of business owners and employees.

This difference in the coming days will rankle in the conscience of swing voters, and I feel many a last minute switch towards Obama will occur on November 6th.

"For Obama, the life/health/education of every ordinary American is more important."

IQ, you continue to get it wrong and to be wrong.

When the records of who cares about people more..O'Bomber or Romney are compared, it's Romney, hands down.

And IQ, I'm not talking about putting on a show for photo ops for a political campaign. I'm talking about a lifetime of giving of time and money to help other people.

And IQ, I'm not talking about giving other people's money. I'm talking about Romney giving away large chunks of his own money to help other people, year in and year out over a lifetime.

Even your basic premise is wrong IQ.

Who cares about the lives of ordinary Americans more IQ?

O'Bomber, who has set up a system of government dependency for citizens, made war on business which create the jobs, instituted a blizzard of new business regulations which curtails business expansion and expanded the role of government in people's lives which sucked the capital out of the private sector which could have created jobs for American citizens. O'Bomber who has never run a business in his life and would flunk econ 101.

Or

Romney, a successful businessman and Governor, who will cut taxes, cut regulation, cut government spending, accelerate depreciation to spur business activity and investment in America and get out of the way of job creators so the economy can grow and create the jobs Americans need to take care of themselves.

We already know O'BomberCare is a jobs killer, is going to cost more than $2Trillion we don't have and will ration health care for those who need it most. Romney will repeal and replace O'BomberCare.

On the education front.

Who cares most about good education for American children IQ?

O'Bomber, whose first action was to cancel the voucher system in DC which gave intercity minority children the chance to get out of the worst school system in American and into private schools...like his own children enjoy. And this was a political move to pay back his union contributors in the National Education Association, NEA and Federal Teachers Association, FTA and hurt the education of children in DC.

Or

Romney who as Governor led Massachusetts to the number 1 state in education in the United States. Romney, whose words line up with his record.

I continue to wonder why you care about all this IQ? You're "supposedly" not here, not an American. O'Bomber is a royal screw-up in every metric of governance, domestic and foreign. O'Bomber has weakened America. Yet IQ, you're pulling for O'Bomber to win reelection. Is that where your interest lies IQ; a vastly weakened America?

Nonsense.

quote:
When the records of who cares about people more..O'Bomber or Romney are compared, it's Romney, hands down.

Hmmmm...President who reformed healthcare for all Americans versus someone that gave to charity.

quote:
O'Bomber, who has set up a system of government dependency for citizens,

He did not do this. That's just false. Existing programs continued to exist, and be used, but he didn't create the need for people to use these programs, he didn't cause them to be dependent. In his healthcare reform, he actually created a system that will force people to pay to take care of themselves.

quote:
instituted a blizzard of new business regulations which curtails business expansion

sucked the capital out of the private sector which could have created jobs for American citizens.

False. Look at the stock market much?

quote:
Romney, a successful businessman and Governor, who will cut taxes, cut regulation, cut government spending, accelerate depreciation to spur business activity and investment in America and get out of the way of job creators so the economy can grow and create the jobs Americans need to take care of themselves.

Romney is pragmatic, and I predict he'll follow in George H.W. Bush's footsteps in implementing new taxes, because there is no addressing the debt without better revenue.

quote:
Romney who as Governor led Massachusetts to the number 1 state in education in the United States. Romney, whose words line up with his record.

Nope. The education reform that lead to Massachusetts being number one took place before Romney took office. He was simply the benefactor of other people's good deeds.

I have an avid interest in Global Politics, and a successful USA almost always means a happier planet.

The people of USA gave a war-mongering Dubya 8 years to take America forward but he took it to the cleaners. All the economic good done by Clinton was ruined in a needless war against Iraq, a country that had no role in 9-11.

It is thus fair to give an American President of the opposite polarity four more years to create some balance. Obama has many weaknesses. But his core strength is that he will not drag the country to another useless war with Iran just for the sake of a Military-Industrial Complex. He has a way of making Americans likeable to the rest of the world.

True, his economic skills have to drastically improve to ensure better growth.

The stock market has been very positive under him so far but he must do what it takes to take DOW to 18k+.

If Romney wins, he will not be allowed to improve America. The GOP fanatics will steal the thunder, and you are looking at a messy war with Iran, a belligerent China and a good kick in the backside from Putin, while fossil fuel emissions double, fracking trebles, Alternative Power research crumbles and new ethnic/religious divisions rise to the surface. Of course, Wall Street will revert to its gambling ways.

If Romney wins, only Romney and his top 2% pals will win. The American Nation will be economically weaker in 2016, though the top 2% will certainly be wealthier.

Anyway, just 4 days more for the results to start trickling in.

It would have been best had Ron Paul won the nomination and taken the White House but between a Democrat and an ex-Democrat, the consistent Democrat is a better choice.

US Voters know best. Let us see.

O'Bomber is the worst president in US history. He's had 4 years to get the economy back on track. Instead he passed a health care bill that makes a majority of Americans want to throw up and for which we can't pay. He's almost bankrupted the US by adding an additional 6 Trillion in new debt for our kids to pay off. More Americans are unemployed than when he took office. More Americans are on Food Stamps than at any time in US History. More Americans are below the poverty level than at any time since the 1960s. Family incomes have fallen by almost $4500 per year. Gasoline has almost doubled in price. The US credit rating has been downgraded for the first time in history. He's submitted budgets to Congress so extreme they didn't get a single vote..even from members of his own party. Foreign policy under O'Bomber is a shambles. Our allies don't trust the US..under O'Bomber feckless leadership. Worse, he's lied and still is lying to America and the world about the attack in Libya.

Yet IQ, you say you want a strong US...but you support O'Bomber. There's something very, very, very wrong with that picture IQ!

I'm not interested in anything you have to say acoustic. You've proved you can't think or are so ideologically driven you'll say anything. The truth means nothing whatsoever to you.

Oh sure, you can make misleading statements all you want, but it's me that's ideologically driven. The truth means nothing to me? How is it that I'm so often correcting you on what the truth is then?

Anyone remember $4 gas under Bush? I do. The market determined that price, and the market is determining the current price. Not the President.

Everything else we've already gone over.

So O'Bomber got his photo op with Christie then flew off to Vegas to campaign but...

where the hell is O'Bomber's FEMA?

Where the hell is the food, the water, the blankets the porta potties, the portable shelters for those displaced by Sandy?

It's not as if this storm just suddenly sprang up and hit the coast. Sandy was tracked for days and days and days and days.

So Sandy is long gone but where the hell is FEMA? People in New York and New Jersey don't have water, they don't have food, some don't have shelter or blankets. Some are dumpster diving for food. So where the hell is O'Bomber's FEMA? Disaster relief is the reason FEMA exists. So where the hell is the pre-positioned food, water, blankets, clothing etc.?

So, where is O'Bomber's FEMA.

While O'Bomber is patting himself and his FEMA director on the back and Bloomberg and Cuomo are patting themselves on the back and holding press conferences telling everyone how wonderful they are, the people in NY City and New Jersey are telling an entirely different story.

Where the hell is O'Bomber's FEMA? Disaster relief is the reason for FEMAs existence. Where's the water, the food, the blankets...it's cold in New York and New Jersey, where's the clothing?

Making public service announcments on radio and television and on the FEMA websites to people who have NO ELECTRICITY and therefore no phones, no radio, no television and no Internet service is really helpful...don't you think?

So where are the FEMA trucks...IN THE HARD HIT NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE WHO NEED THE FOOD, THE WATER, THE BLANKETS AND THE CLOTHING?

They are not to be found.

Now, for the hypocrite whiners who don't want their little Marxist Messiah's hair mussed over his total incompetence in managing the FEMA response to this natural disaster; you sure didn't feel that way when you were unloading on George Bush. And most of the problems with Katrina can be traced directly to the Governor of LA and the idiot Mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin. Tough luck usual suspects.

Staten Island Resident Confronts Chuck Schumer; 'We Are Gonna Die!'
Schumer: “I know what you’re going through, sweetheart.”

NY Daily News: Staten Island has been the scene of some of the most heartbreaking storm-related devastation, especially on the South Shore where numerous trapped residents had to be rescued. Hundreds of homes — from multimillion-dollar mansions to modest bungalows — have been damaged and dozens of streets are impassable due to downed trees and buckled roads.

As such, federal and local officials heard an earful from residents Thursday.
***Oh wait, how can that be? O'Bomber, Bloomberg and Cuomo tell us the response to Sandy is simply WONDERFUL. All the drooling O'Bomber press sites run endless coverage of O'Bomber, Bloomberg and Cuomo patting themselves on the back. The people are telling a far different story***

“Please don’t leave us,” a weeping Donna Solli pleaded to Sen. Chuck Schumer in front of her damaged Neptune St. home. “I live alone down here.”

Schumer hugged Solli, a Transportation Department worker, and tried to comfort her. “I know what you’re going through, sweetheart,” he said.

"He really has little idea of what they go through. He has the money and resources to be insulated from this to a large degree. What a shallow, unfeeling remark. If you really want to help Chuckie, get her a hotel elsewhere til she can safely return.

Alex R 198 comments collapsed Collapse Expand I am kind of at a loss to understand why help cannot be given faster to these people. I appreciate the severity of the storm but FEMA should be getting into gear right now and shipping in supplies particularly GAS, I know they are working hard but it seems to me that more resources are needed and get them faster into that area. I feel the aftermath is going to be a major tragedy if we are not very careful.

Just because FEMA use the words emegency and management as part of their moniker, doesn't make it so. Wallmart would do a better job at providing relief that the government ever will. I know this from first hand experience. I've been through several storms like this and the best resources for help are yourself (be prepared) and your neighbors, family and friends. It took me over a year to collect on my first federally subsidized flood insurance claim. I finally just moved out of flood prone areas to avoid having to deal with it.

Yeah, O'Bomber's FEMA is doing a wunerful, wunerful, wunerful job...to hear O'Bomber and the FEMA administrator tell the story in O'Bomber's photo ops.

But the reality is a hell of a lot different.

FEMA Out of Water, No Delivery Until Monday
Michael Patrick Leahy
3 Nov 2012

FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.

FEMA only began to solicit bids for vendors to provide bottled water for distribution to Hurricane Sandy victims on Friday, sending out a solicitation request for 2.3 million gallons of bottled water at the FedBizOpps.gov website. Bidding closed at 4:30 pm eastern.

Breitbart News spoke with contracting officer Annette Wright, who said that the winning vendor would be required to deliver the 2.3 million gallons of bottled water to an East Farmingdale, New York distribution center that was listed in the solicitation request by Monday, November 5th. Ms. Wright was unable to say when or how the water would be delivered from the distribution center to needy Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey, Staten Island, Long Island, and other boroughs of New York City. Vendors "are currently being evaluated," she said, and when the vendors are announced, they will provide information on how local distribution will occur.

Has Hannity talked to Christie or Bloomberg recently? I guess not. The clean up in New Jersey has begun, the National Guard is going door to door offering food and water to those stranded.
In New York in five days Metro North has been restored, most subways are running, and bus service is being offered to the those without subway service, and most of lower Manhattan now has power.
Tell me Hannity, whatever happened to personal responsibility that you and yours always tout? Should not all those effected be out there fending for themselves? Shouldn't they have stored up on MRE's (Meals Ethopians wouldn't eat). Neighborhoods restoring their own electricity, and dealing with their own injured and homeless?
Sandy is not Katrina - not even close, and it is because the Northeast has the infrastrucure to deal with such a diaster. It also has the intelligence to ask for help outside it's borders when necessary.
Stick it Hannity - because this one won't stick to Obama.
